I'm really surprised most here are unaware of Jeff Lemire's art. Essex County, Lost Dogs, Sweet Tooth, the Nobody, Underwater Welder...none of these ring a bell? This guy has won multiple awards for his works. I just purchased a Punisher piece of his for my growing art collection.

This is a collection of short stories. The Lemire art is just one chapter. So if you don't like it, there will be lots of others. These have already been released digitally.
What I don't get it is... why are the shorts back? I mean, either introduce the new 52 or don't, DC! Stop being in the middle, and make a decision already!

These stories are out of continuity and not part of the New 52. Just like the Legends of the Dark Knight series.

@longbow- they may be not part of the new 52, but if DC want us to accept the new costume, and forget 75 years of iconography, they should be doing a better job at re-enforcing the new image. Not that I'm all for the new image, I just think it's strange that DC are marketing their new material poorly.

Sometimes I think people stand behind things just because of the name attached. Even the best aren't perfect every time. Samnee and Lemiere are good, this just isn't the project for their style.

@darkmetal, If you have such a beef with mainstream superhero comics (and its understandable why anyone would) read more independent titles.

These are pretty good I've been reading them digitally but will be buying them in print. it's out of continuity but it's so much better than the Superman in the New 52 IMO.

Don't know why they get Lemire on art when his writing skills are clearly showing in Animal Man and JLD.

I can't stand his drawings, all his people look like neanderthals, even his inanimate objects look like neanderthals!!
