For months now, I've been covering reports of a new Crisis, now known as Blood Moon, on the way from DC Comics. The New 52: Futures End #22 finally gave mention of those reports as a monstrous new form of Brainiac declared, "Welcome to my world, welcome to the Blood Moon." There have been clues of Brainiac's involvement in Blood Moon, which Bleeding Cool says deals with bottled earths and characters from different universes coming head-to-head, and if last issue confirmed it, the covers of Futures End #23 and #24 offer an even bigger tease. Co-publisher Dan DiDio posted the covers on Facebook, teasing "For secrets revealed, look to the skies." This refers to the 'blood-red skies' of Crisis On Infinite Earths, and seen on these covers; if we look at the skies, we can see that there are pre-New 52 versions of Batman, Power Girl, Captain Marvel, Hawkman and more, plus the characters of the Futures End weekly series in the foreground. Take a look and leave your thoughts in the usual place.
