When the news hit that DC would be covering up Power Girl's cleavage in "The New 52", the reaction here on CBM was mixed to say the least. "Powergirl with NO boobage...this won't last," said 'Nomis', while 'headlopper' argued, "If DC was going to change anything about 'Powergirl', they should have made her boobs even BIGGER!" Well, you guys got your wish! As you can see from the cover and solicitation for this May's World's Finest #12, the character is finally going back to her old look! This is really no surprise when they tried to give Wonder Woman pants people freaked out so they didn't.I'm amazed this lasted as long as it did.They must be trying to boost sales for this series.

DC is silly, because now that she's dressed like that her sales will increase?

Okay...your company.

I'd also like to see DC/WB sell these female characters to a female movie audience as "female empowerment" characters when they're all dressed like hookers. Dressed like that, DC is essentially saying that a women's power comes from sex and they won't be taken seriously unless they flaunt their sexuality in men's faces.

If World's Finest wasn't selling, it was because the writing was bad. It has 0 to do with Power Girl's tits, no one buys comics to look at a drawing's cleavage...

@ Emros - Nah, you can make a female character sexy and have her dress sexy without taking away from the character. Like Wonder Woman, you can put her in warrior armor and in a movie, have her go to the beach and put her in her "classic" look.

Nothing wrong with sexy, nothing wrong with showing the sex appeal of female characters, but when that's all you make them about you've made whatever message the character wants to teach moot.

Especially with Power Girl, who wears that because "people don't look at her face and that's why she doesn't wear a mask".
