The Big Blue Boy scout is back in the first issue of his self titled release next week and DC has released the preview of the issue featuring explosions, Super Breath, and a foe that speaks Kryptonia!

Thanks to Comic Book Resources we have our first look at Superman #1. These pages are action pack featuring Supes trying to get information out of thieves, and is rudely interrupted by a fiery foe that seems to be speaking Kryptonian! Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White also make appearances in the pages. Superman #1 is written by George Perez who also did the art work along side Jesus Merino. The issue will be on sale on September 28, 2011.

Not a fan of Perez's work, though these pages don't look that bad, he tends to make the figures way too stiff. I also hate how he draws faces.

although, there are a few things that could improve this bad design: remove armoury look, remove shield shapes everywhere, remove the turtle neck...

i look pages written by Perez and all I see is "Blah BLAH BLAH blah blah"........omg, it's a comic, not a novel. he takes after Busiek far too much. this is a pass.

Honestly, looks like garbage from the 80s - the poor drawings, the explanation dialogues... And also the videojournalism form the 70s era, when Clark and Lois worked on TV.

OLD IDEAS!

Action Comics it's the hype - and old vision really reinvented.

Looks pretty good, but its just a preview so we'll have to see, and I like Perez's art but its a bit too small for me, strains the eyes but its still good art, and I love Superman, and am curios to see what his new status qou is so Im definitly pickin this up.

Why does every panel have to have dialogue? Where's the rhythm of sequential art here? A certain "flow" is missing. Also, we've seen this kind of stuff before. Can't these guys think of something else that's "Super" to sustain your interest for 5 pages? I'm sorry but I have to agree with some of the guys here who say that these preview pages are old hat.

@ comicbookmoron: I agree. Dialogue and text boxes further explaining what is happening so you don't have to use your imagination at all. Those text boxes sound like a frickin' Harry Potter book.
