Looks a lot like when Ra's al Ghul burned down Wayne Manor in Batman Begins.

Yes!

Even though I'm not overly fond of this as a canonical story (Year One and The Man Who Laughs will always be my go-to tales for the early days of Batman and the Joker), this is a great new take on Bruce and Mr. J's respective rises to legendary status. The fact that their tales are being woven together at such an early point in their lives is a great choice.

Can't wait to read the whole thing all the way through!

I don't wanna be THAT dude but, I can't get passed "I can't find you, son!"

What kind of anti-encouraging statement is that to make? It's out of character.

Awesome, Capullo is one DC's best artists. Now DC needs to put Sean Murphy to good use.

And for crying out loud fix Action Comics and Superman.

Also, I like the new look for Thomas and Martha Wayne. IDK why, but Martha looks like Alyson Hannigan to me in this preview...

Capullo kills it on art every issue, one of the reasons i'm buying the figure based on his artwork.

if this is a peek at the shared origin of batman and the joker, then this arc will prove to be one for the history books. loved the past few issues - zero year keeps getting better and better

@Ineedrevelation

His art now is actually MUCH better than what he did in Spawn. It looked good for the time, but it had a lot of issues. He even admitted it when he talked to Kevin Smith on his podcast. He's at or nearing his prime now.

@Dtor91

I agree, his art back them wasn't bad but his work on Batman was a huge factor in me picking up this book.

This looks awesome. Zero Year has been great so far. It's too early to say if it will end up being better than Year One, but it's off to a great start.
