DEADPOOL/BATMAN #1 New Look Reveals Daredevil's Team-Up With Green Arrow, Deadpool vs. Batman, And More

It was last month when we learned that Marvel's Merc with a Mouth will meet DC's Dark Knight in September's Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1, a Marvel/DC crossover the publishers say has been more than twenty years in the making.

The main story starring Deadpool and Batman will be written by Zeb Wells and illustrated by industry superstar Greg Capullo.

The one-shot will also feature additional backup stories spotlighting other exciting Marvel and DC team-ups from a lineup of all-star talent, including "Daredevil and Green Arrow" by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert, "Captain America and Wonder Woman" by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, and "Jeff the Land Shark and Krypto" by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru.

No Spider-Man and Superman? Next time, perhaps.

Each of the stories above will get its own variant cover. That news leaked online earlier today, and you can now check out the "Daredevil/Green Arrow" cover by acclaimed Daredevil artist Marco Checchetto and the "Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto" cover by Gurihiru. Plus, we have an epic wraparound variant cover by Capullo.

"We're going to all corners of the Marvel and DC Universes, and the creators are having an absolute blast finding the unexpected and unexplored connections between these characters," Editor Mark Basso said today. "We can't wait for the fans to experience the same jaw-dropping moments we are! And we've got some more secret stories in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for more to be revealed!"

Zdarsky added, "This has been surreal to say the least!. Captain America and Wonder Woman are the best their worlds have to offer, both warriors for peace. Getting to explore a dynamic and history between them has been genuinely exciting."

Thompson, meanwhile, shared, "Two ICONS meeting for the first time! It's such an honor for Jeff to get to be Marvel's ambassador in this crossover story with Krypto. Anyone who loves comics knows how rare it is for DC and Marvel to crossover, so Jeff getting to be part of this historic moment with Krypto, and Gurihiru and I getting to bring that tale to readers...well, sometimes this job is very cool."

I'm happy that they are doing crossovers, which haven't been done yet, so no need for a third Superman/Spider-Man in my eyes.

@PartyKiller - For someone who self-deprecatingly acts like a shallow money-grabber, he really never did sell out. That's rare.
