Why is Wonder Woman Boinking Superman boring? Who the hell is Lois Lane compared to Wonder Woman? A boring nobody that’s who.
drewXdeficit
drewXdeficit - 8/29/2011, 12:20 AM
If you think Lois Lane is a "boring nobody" then you haven't read much of her character. There's a reason why her Flashpoint title is "LOIS LANE and the Resistance." She is an exceptional character, and that is precisely why Clark/Kal-El is infatuated with her.
LordHuck
LordHuck - 8/29/2011, 1:02 AM
I didn’t say Who is Lois Lane compared to drewXdeficit

I said who the Hell is Lois Lane compared to Wonder Woman.

And between those two. Lois is the boring choice.

I am thinking... maybe this time around Lois is killed in very dramatic fashion and it changes Supermans attitude about how these villians should really be handled.

Superman should be with Zatanna. Her magic would make him weaker, and then they could have normal sex, and if they want to have a child, she just have to cast a spell to make Kal human during sex

SUper, man should ne with Lois Lane. If you think he should be with Wonder woman you know nothing of the character.

@LordHuck Lois Lane is one of the strongest women in DCU.

If y'all wanna see one of the few reasons Superman and WW fails, Love and Cape is a nice read.

Blah, blah, blah. It's unnecessary to restart every comic that you (DC) publish in order to update the characters.

Im VERY excited about the Relaunch. Its a great way to invorgorate the industry. Who cares about the numbering of titles that will reach a 1000, if by that time the market is dead? Besides come issue 1000, id bet that that number will appear on it anyway.

Like MrNoFear said HATERS CAN SUCK IT.

Clark and Lois Forever! Wonder Woman makes sense, but there's no denying that Clark will always prefer Lois! And personally, I like seeing them two together more than Wonder Woman with Superman because that would be annoying and raise a lot of annoying storylines. Lois is more grounded, which helps provide an awesome dynamic between the mortal human and a demigod.

A Lois Lane graphic novel sometime down the line would be cool. A graphic novel that would be the bridge between Lois not with Clark, to Lois loving Clark (or Superman)! I vote Grant Morrison or Fabian Nicieza to write!

I get that you’re one of those old guys that Jim Lee was talking about. You want Superman encased in Amber never changing so he is always as you remember him from your youth.

Why wouldn’t Superman and Wonder Woman date? Their both young attractive people who work closely together and have a lot in common. The pressures of being a hero and the struggle to relate to humans. Secret identities.

I outright reject your stance that if someone has a different opinion on who Superman should be with it means they “know nothing of the character”. You have said some pompous things before but this is one of your worst. Your personal interpretation has not been canonized by anyone.

Besides, DC is changing all of the mentioned characters anyway. Superman, Lois, WW, are all new and different and have had aspects of their personalities, histories and origins rewritten.

As far as Lois Lane being one of the strongest women in the DCU. That BS always felt so forced to me. She is just some supporting character DC built up so that the readers won’t be bored to tears when the story calls for her presence. There has always been way too much of her in the comics for my liking. Precious panels devoted to her shitty little sub-pots.

@ TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY, it's not all about POWER, it's about seduction and chemistry. A woman can take a baseball bat, attach it to an F-1 engine and get the most powerful lover ever. But she needs warmth, whispers... somebody who knows how to make her feel comfortable, safe and loved. It's not chick flick bs, the largest sex organ in both, men and women, is the brain.

Diana may feel attracted to Batman's confidence and leadership. If the manage to give those qualities to Superman, Diana and every woman in the world will look at him.

Well, hate me all you want, but [frick] Jim Lee and this re-boot. He just said we're modernizing and trying new things. Then explains that they are using the OLD Superman plot device with the love triangle! WTF? Lee is a great artist but he's a crap designer. Hearing him say he is co-publisher of DC Comics makes me cringe. I'm sure there will be some decent things that come out of it but we'll see. My main gripe is WW of course. I HATE the new design.

DC needed this. I'm hoping for greatness and ill be reading at least 12 titles.

LordHuck you keep calling me an "old guy" and you don't even know me, dude...

You don't like the character, don't try to change him into something you like.

Your views on Supes are "he's too good, it doesn't work, he must be angsty". i still say, keep his core but write better stories. It worked with Cap (another character people think is too goody two shoes).

So far what we hear makes it look like they are taking Superman in the direction of that speech from Kill Bill. And that is not a good direction for a character who was always more human than alien.

@GDSUPERGUY I really dig that talk John Stewart has with Vixen in a JLA comic (from 2010, I think, can't remember the numner) about how Batman is not a good leader fro the JLA cos he uses people as pawns and nobody would really like it.

Vixen asks about Supes saying "we'd follow him into hell". Stewart says something like "and he knows it, but he'd never ask"...
LordHuck
LordHuck - 8/29/2011, 4:45 PM
I do like the character, but unlike a lot of people I don’t think he is and always has been perfect.

If you like the character then don’t demand stagnation so he turns into some irrelevant Dick Tracy esque fossil .

As far as “angst” goes. Superman Sees death, destruction, pestilence, the worst parts of humanity, Horrors beyond imagining, and opinions like yours, every month of his life. If you don’t suffer a bit of Angst from that kind of exposure then you aren’t a relatable character.

Another thing. Since People like Jim Lee are in the majority now, we will damn well change Superman to fit our needs if we see fit. He is already fine blade, he just needs a new handle and a little sharpening.

We don’t have to pay homage to the “old guard” anymore. Superman is free to move beyond that.

The best part aboot this is that they are making Booster Gold Canadian. I'm guessing is that he just says he's Canadian for a spot on the JLI. I think its boosterific.

LordHuck OMG man, you are so cool with the young peeps!

Againg, changing everything about a character is not the way to go. SUperman will be back in "red panties" in a couple of years.

Maybe Greg Rucka can say it better http://blog.newsarama.com/2011/08/25/smart-versus-realism/ but go on with your little cool crowd... Superman will be back to his own iconic self, with Lois in his arms, soon enough..
rbfn04
rbfn04 - 8/29/2011, 11:17 PM
BTW, I want Supes to evolve, but within character. Not with some reboot that takes him way out of character..
LordHuck
LordHuck - 8/30/2011, 12:08 AM
Well clearly DC thinks it is the way to go.

If you think they are ever putting Panties back on Superman you’re delusional.

I am not part of the “little cool crowd” I am part of the “modern progressive mainstream crowd”

You on the other hand are part of the “little lame crowd”. Go play with your CB radio and read about your superheroes who wear panties over their tights.

You are being left behind. Get on board or good riddance.

You're a funny dude, LordHuck. If you think Supes ani't gonna be back as soon as Geoff John's fanfic or DiDio are gone, think again.

Ans, as I said before, I don't have a problem with removing the trunk, even tho I like the iconic costume better. But I still haven't seen a concept I like yet. Would be on board with the new comics look, if it weren't an armour.

Also, the direction they seem to be going is BS and will not stick. As soon as they settle this case on court, soon, Superman will be back to his iconic self.

But, whatever man...
