We currently know a lot about what series will be included on the DC Universe streaming service, with a live-action Titans series and the third season of Young Justice among the more anticipated programs, but we didn’t have a clear idea of when the service would launch.

Thankfully, during an appearance on the James Bonding podcast, DC Entertainment Community Manager Dani Snow briefly discussed the online platform and when it may be available.

“We are about to launch, I think late August, our DC Digital platform, which will be a hub for all things DC," Snow said before explaining what kind of content will be on the service. “There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming. We're gonna have a lot of comics on there. There's gonna be a lot of good stuff on there."

Though many suspected the service could launch this year, we didn’t know any specifics. So, while this August launch date doesn't seem firmly set in stone, it does provide us with a clearer idea of when fans will be able to check out the highly anticipated platform.

Digital movies? That's new. I wonder if the DVD animated films launch on the service now or are these different? Could there be live action films?

@NinnesMBC - Uhhh, as @BloodyBed hinted at, the service isn't up yet. You have enough time to subscribe.

That being said, can you even subscribe at this point in time?

@PrimitiveMan - and it’s not like they’re going to run out of subscriptions...

Maybe he was joking about it being canceled quickly?

It should be called DC Multiverse since it all doesn't take place in the same universe.

"We're gonna have a lot of comics on there"

oh. oh now you have my attention.

how much is "a lot"...

it better be enough comics to fill up a literal lot.

I was a yes for this the day it was announced. I hope we get Batman TAS and the Justice League cartoons. Add in the entire catalogue of animated movies, comics and Young Justice...and then Titans...and we've got ourselves a frigging winner.

OK, didn't get that the comics were on there at first. At first it sounded like a sick joke. DC Comics > Marvel Comics
