The first project out of Sony Online's Austin studio, this action-based MMO explores the various worlds of DC Comics' superheroes and villains. Key collaborators include comic veterans Jim Lee (who serves as the game's Executive Creative Director), Ale Garza, Carlos D'Anda, and Scott Iwahashi, in addition to EverQuest developers, Chris Cao and Shawn Lord.

A massively-multiplayer experience, DC Universe Online brings high-energy action to the forefront with a combat system designed to deliver a fast-paced action experience with the extraordinary powers of your personally created heroes and villains at your disposal. Battle with or against their favorite DC Super Heroes and Villains including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. For the very first time, players and fans will be able to enter this fabled world as an active force for good or evil.

DC Universe Online is set to be released on Playstation 3 and PC later this year!

@IrfonW & deadpool: They were making a MU online game, but then it got scrapped because Marvel and Microsoft couldn't come to terms. Now the project is resurrected and we should see it debut in 2013 or 2014. Unfortunately, the world will be gone after 2012 so it may not actually happen.

jusme6: You had me up until the point you mention the world ending in 2012, lol! You dont really believe that crap do you!? :P A Marvel MMO is definitely something I'd be interested in though...the fact you have to pay monthly for DCU Online puts me off a little but I'm sure I'll pick this up after seeing the reviews and hopefully being able to try a demo.

When i first saw screen shots for DCUO i FREAKED out!! and then i herd its going to be on PS3, and i freaked out even more!! finally!! a MMO to play right in your own living room or bedroom!!!..and i still freak out..

but....... i just recently herd the BULLSH*T news about now paying a $15 (yes, i said fifteen dollars) A MONTH membership to play DCUO... ALSO a fee for each add-on... a fee for the playstaion network membership for DCUO.. and also fee's for all "updates" and whatever bullsh*t to be in the future... It's bad enough that xboxlive went up in price..

BUT $15 A FU**ING MONTH TO PLAY ONE FU**ING VIDEO GAME!!! FU** DC UNIVERSE ONLINE!!! they can kiss my ass for being such selfish greedy money-hungry assholes and they can take their DC UNIVERSE and shut it up their asses!! im not paying that kind of money monthly to play just one game... a normal fee of like $4.99 or something like that is ALOT more understandable... but $15 a month?!?!?!?!?! Xboxlive just went up to $9.99 a month.. but thats xboxlive, thats a whole world brought to your living room with every xbox game you'll play.. not limiting you to one dimension and one game....

This is bullshit!! and i cant stand money-hungry assholes who say "we're doing this for the fans" meanwhile they're sitting in the backseat of there sports car counting there 100 dollar bills...

i never thought id ever say this inmy life.. but [frick] DC UNIVERSE!!

Been a lifelong Supes/Luthor fanboy. Great to see their age-old rivalry in a new and exciting way! DCUniverse Online looks GREAT!

Have any of you played a MMORPG before? World of Warcraft anyone? If you had, you would find that "Free to Play" is worse than "Pay to Play" in cost.

@Suffertree: great find!

What the Hell do they do with the monthly fee? It goes back into the game in updates, mantance and developement. A MMO is not a static stand alone game. Its more of a living breathing world simulator if done properly.
