COMICS: Batman Takes A Knee In This Sure To Be Controversial Artwork From Francesco Francavilla
Regardless of whether or not you're a sports fan, chances are you will have heard about NFL players taking a knee in America to protest racial injustice and police brutality. Now, Batman has joined them...
#TakeTheKnee refers to a silent protest which has seen NFL players take to one knee during the National Anthem. That's their way of protesting racial injustice and police brutality in America but with the movement once again gaining steam, Donald Trump has called those doing so "SOBs" and demanded that they be suspended or fired for what he says is them disrespecting their country.
Many people in the comic book industry have weighed in on this and comic book artist Francesco Francavilla (Detective Comics) has pitched in by revealing artwork with Batman taking the knee.
This obviously isn't an official piece of artwork from DC Comics but it's undeniably poignant and has been used by many comic book fans who agree with the #TakeTheKnee movement. Regardless of how you feel, though, there's no denying that this is a great piece of artwork! What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this picture in the comments section down below.
