All things considered, 2012 was a pretty good year for comic books. That's not to say that they year was devoid of controversy, disputes or disappointments but both Marvel and DC have to be pleased with their companies' fiscal performance. IDW and Image also make strides this year. It was a hard choice after reading over 300 issues this year but here are my top 5 panels of the year.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #8
Martian Manhunter laying a beat down on the entire Justice League. 'Nuff said.
w: Geoff Johns
a: Ivan Reis
colorist: Gabe Eltaeb

DAREDEVIL: END OF DAYS #1
Warning: Violence. Lots and lots of violence.
w: Brian Michael Bendis & David Mack
a: Janson & Sienkiewicz
colorist: Matt Hollingsworth

SAGA #4
Weird, strangely sexy and funny, Saga is the indie hit of the year.
w: Brian K. Vaughn
a:Fiona Staples
colorist: Fiona Staples

THE WALKING DEAD #100
One of the most shocking moments of the year.
w: Robert Kirkman
a: Charlie Adlard
colorist: Cliff Rathburn

JUSTICE LEAGUE #7
You could really pick a number of Green Lantern's panels from the early issues of Justice League but this one was my favorite. The book definitely misses his background humor.
w: Geoff Johns
a: George Ha
colorist: Art Lyons

Like the first one. DC needs to permanently change J'onn's moniker to just 'Manhunter'. Sure looks like he's doing that here.

How was Peter(Ock) standing over Ock(Peter) not listed at number 1 for 2012?

Because it's gimmicky.

Martian Manhunter taking down the Justice League is also one of my favorites this year. (It's by Ivan Reis, not Carlos D'Anda, by the way.) Other than that, I haven't managed to read much comic this year.

Oh, I think I'm also in love with the imagery of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman battling the Parademons in Earth 2 #1.

Quite an underrated title, IMO, while I think it features the better Apokoliptian invasion than Justice League did.

Regardless of it being gimmicky, which is an opinion, it was still a huge moment.

Every panel rules but vagiannes's Tom Welling tribute.., good art, but yeah. Shit show and it's over. There were a few good episodes tattered throughout it's 9(?) year run, but overall, not nearly as great as the vocal minority lets the world hear about it. It's OVER!!

Whenever you do a good job representing the Apokolips side of DC, you've done well in my opinion. I love that arc and how it plays into the DCU! I was a Rannn/Thanagar war reader(heroes from the past took center stage, I had to) a few years back when I was making $.

These are the reasons I laugh when someone bashes Curry's contemporary potential.

Sorry kids, I'm done but real quick, as you know, Red Skull is usually the best villain in all the arcs. Hell recently he chucked that baby out the window; he's an evil existance and a perfect villain. I hope he comes back cinematically at some point down the road, despite Elrond stating that if you want to freezedry me and my talents, you better have the wallet. :-| :-) :-D :-P Whatever that means! :-D

I don't really know how to post a pic here, so... But well, Greg Capullo's first panel in Batman #15 was priceless. That and Batman's monologue in that same page, speaking about how the Joker's pupils show his pure hatred of everything and everyone. Priceless.

How does no one give credit to Walking Dead 100. I been reading comics since I was like 8 and to this day I have never scene a couple of panels that were so emotional yet, so vile, and brutal as the moment Negan crushes in _____ head. I didn't wan't to put the name in for people who haven't read it. It was awful, in a series full of awful moments. I have read JLA and I just can't get on board. They don't seem to be doing a good job with the characters. To me it is like Johns keys in on one character and writes him spot on then misses the mark with the rest. He has done awesome with Aquaman. I did like the cyclops stuff. For me that was number two. It actually got me back into X-Men and made me like Cyclops so much more. You kind of root for him to put wolverine on his ass just to humble him for a change. That's my opinions.
