Marvel Comics has announced that a new Daredevil #1 will rise from the ashes of Devil's Reign this June. Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto will continue their Eisner-nominated run, turning their gaze to a future full of peril and pain in an explosive beginning of an all-new era for Hell's Kitchen's Man Without Fear.

What is left of Daredevil after Devil's Reign? Who lived, who died, and who is left to pick up the pieces? It's said we can expect the series to tackle Matt and Elektra's journeys as they deal with the brutal cost of taking on the Daredevil mantle. With new enemies and radical changes to the fabric of Daredevil's mythos, Daredevil #1 is set to usher in the darkest Hell’s Kitchen to date.

"Getting to write Daredevil and work with Marco is a career highlight. I’m just genuinely excited that we get to continue our epic story with this new issue one," Zdarsky says. "Matt and Elektra have confronted their past mistakes with Devil's Reign and Woman Without Fear, but can they atone for them together?"

"This is the start of our fourth year on the title! And the plan for it is about as big a swing as we could possibly take," Zdarsky added. "I’m super excited for readers to see where we’re taking our Daredevils!"

This is good news for fans of these characters, and a new #1 issue is always a nice jumping on point.

Devil's Reign has seen Matt Murdock put on the ropes by Wilson Fisk after the vengeful Kingpin of Crime has outlawed superheroes after realising Daredevil has done something to make him forget who is beneath that horned cowl. You can check out some amazing artwork below and make sure to stay tuned for further details.

@OldMan - yeah I’m tired of marvel and dc always rebooting series starting back at one again continue where series left off issue 40 for example stop making new issues 1 every time for new series

@dragon316 - I love the excuses “It’s a chance to get new readers on board”. Yeah for the number 1 and then it’s back to us regulars who have been buying for years. The higher the issue numbers get the more I see it as a triumph of the title. Glad that Action and Detective reverted back to the original numbers at least.

Hey all,

If I wanted to get into modern DD comics, where would I start? I read a bunch of the Mark Waid ones years ago but haven't picked up any more. Is there a best point to jump back in?

@Cass - I would say that the run by Zdarsky that just ended was excellent all the way until the end. 36 issues. So if you can get your hands on that series, I would recommend it.
