Are Marvel Positioning THE INHUMANS To Be Their Movie Versions Of Mutants?

We know that Marvel don't have the movie rights to the X-Men, but could they be rebooting the comic incarnations of The Inhumans to fill their role in the movie universe? The latest "Be Vigilant" Inhumanity teaser may well suggest so..

On the surface the above pic is just another Marvel teaser for an upcoming comic event, but lets look at the wider implications. That "Be Vigilant" propaganda style image certainly calls to mind the early fear and hatred faced by Mutants in the Marvel comic universe, so it looks like The Inhumans are going to be similarly ostracized in the upcoming Inhumanity event. How does that tie into the movies? Well we've heard that there's an Inhumans flick somewhere on the cards, and since Marvel Studios can't use the X-Men, it makes sense that they'd position a different set of characters to take their place -- possibly giving them a way to explain how characters like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch came by their powers. It definitely looks as if they'll be the new "threat" in the comic universe anyway. It's just speculation for now of course, but don't be surprised if -- just as they did with Guardians Of The Galaxy -- Marvel use this latest event as a jumping on point which eventually leads to The Inhumans on the big screen.

@NovaCorpsFan

He most likely saw Thor: The Dark World.

An Inhumans film is going to be as odd as Guardians of the Galaxy because the leader of their team can't speak. I wonder how they're gonna pull that off.

Well Feige did say an Inhumans movie would be "in the vein of X-Men about aliens who were put on Earth as a sleeper cell to eventually call back their race to take over the planet"

@blackandyellow Well most of the audience isn't made up of fans, so Marvel needn't worry.

I'm predicting Guardians of the Galaxy will contain some reference to the Kree (since we know Ronan and Korath are in it) having visited Earth long ago and doing experiments.

Then in Age of Ultron we'll get some hints about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's ancestry.

Then come Phase 3 they'll finally launch the Inhumans and explain who and what they are, tying it to the past films.

Marvel repackaged and rebooted the GOTG for a new comic series in anticipation of the movie...that!

@sKeemAn

"Nice. That means QS & SW will be Inhumans in AoS"

I hadn't thought of that... I was wondering how they were going to explain them... that might fit perfectly...

The whole racism against mutants with anti-mutant picket signs and sentinals.
The concept of people just being born with powers sometimes (aka lazy origin stories).
This is all my least vaforite things about Marvel.

So now I got the MCU which is Marvel but without mutants and X-Teams. Awesome!

Let Disney/Marvel get Spider-man and Fantastic Four back please.
Let Fox keep X-Men.

And now they are gonna ruin the MCU by cheating the mutant bigoty into the MCU using the Inhumans?
Well Im not happy.

(I know my opinion is probably not a popular one. I still wanted to speak my 2 cents.)

This theory was brought up (not as eloquently) by @nibs in an article he wrote a couple of months back...

FINALLY! The end is here. The rotation begins: Inhumans become Marvel's new hated species; Guardians become Marvel's new dysfunctional first family of all things Cosmic; Doc Ock becomes Marvel's new Spider-man; and soon we'll find out that Johnny Storm is adopted.

I'm done.

Comic Book Fans: "Disney/Marvel is just using the Inhumans to rip off the concepts in X-Men!"

Regular Joes: "Disney/Marvel is ripping off X-Men with these made up characters no one has heard of!"

So....who exactly would this actually please?

Yep, I I know Nibs..there were others who had that idea too..I'm not claiming ownership of it,. But this latest image is further evidence that the Inhumans are the new mutants of the comic world, so I thought it might also add further evidence to them being used similarly in the movies, and that the theory bared repeating.

I never really understood why the X-Men had rocks thrown at them and picket signes shoved in their faces.
Yet the Fantastic Four were cheered for and Sue Storm would be on the cover of fashion magazines.

Why would average people in the Marvel Universe care about any distinction between mutants and people who got their powers in a different manner?

Logan should just tell everyone he was bitten by a radioactive wolverine and everyone would stop persecuting him.

Then again Im not the biggest comic reader so I may be way off base with my confusion.

I'm down with this. Black Bolt and the Inhumans are awesome.
