Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick has announced over her Tumblr page that Avengers Assemble is set to be canceled this March with issue #25.

"[Warren] Ellis wants me to tell you he 'murdered it with special English curse magics,' but in truth the book fulfilled its mandate, so it’s done with issue 25," DeConnick said via tumblr. "Thank you SO MUCH for all the support -- it's been a blast.",

Avengers Assemble launched in 2012 and focused on the cast from "The Avengers" movie, though. The series would evolved over time to feature a number of Avengers from across the Marvel U when DeConnick took over with issue #9.

-avengers
-new avengers
-mighty avengers
-secret avengers
-uncanny avengers
-young avengers
-avengers world
-avengers assemble
-avengers a.i

are all these avenger team's members actually referring to them selves as a ______ avenger?

@bluedude Not all of them. The Uncanny Avengers refer to themselves as the Avengers Unity Squad and I believe the New Avengers refer to themselves as the Illuminati

They're replacing it with these titles:

"Who wants to date a Daredevil (and probably get killed for it)"
"Janitors of Avengers Tower"
"Dr. Rosenblatt: Anger Management Counselor for The Hulk"
"Adventures of a Shawarma Restaurateur"
"One More Day Part II"

IMHO

This series was create for the sole purpose of capitalizing on the MCU.
They marketed the six MCU characters to the GA. When the line-up changed, there was no more purpose to the series.
