What do you guys think of the cover? While it's well known to comic fans that they don't always reflect the interior of the book, the combination of both this and the above description seems to indicate that both the Avengers and X-Men will end up facing a far bigger threat than each other. The question now of course is who the Phoenix takes as its host. Hope Summers is obviously the most likely option, but who knows? Perhaps we'll see the return of Jean Grey... Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

I thought in those Phoenix: End Song books that it was revealed that Jean Grey had become a part of the Phoenix? That she was forever bonded to it?Something to the effect of she was beyond life and death?Gonna have to break open the collection and do some reading tonight.

Also doesn't the host need to be an Omega Level mutant? I thought I read that in Phoenix:End Song also.I remember Emma Frost not being able to contain the Phoenix force for very long.If that's true,that leaves only a few potential hosts.

I am starting to think that this is going to be just some dumb wolverine emo cross over story. lets face facts, yeah jean found wolverine attractive but you would think that a guy who is about 100 yrs old would learn to back off a guys wife. wolverine is scum bag. I want this to be epic but Im sure 70% will be about wolvie and his feelings.

If Cap, Wolvie, and Cyke were rearranged it may make more sense. See Capt and Cyke went out to the local Phoenix Fire Pit BBQ Restaurant. They step out having had to spicy of a meal and are puking up flames for the Phoenix Brisket. They run into Wolverine and spew fire all over him. Ticked Wolvie rips out the claws and takes a slice at Cap causing him to fall backwards with fire sauce emitting from his body.

I think its safe to say...stay away for the Phoenix Fire Pit BBQ Restaurant.

So they are fighting in the Blue Area of the moon,where Jean 'killed' herself the first time waay back in issue 137? Hmm..Also looks like Logan's trying to kill a possesssed-by-Phoenix-Force Cap from that cover.So why do I have this feeling that Cyclops is going to "die" as a result of all this?
