I too like the new direction of Avengers as planetary protectors of earth, elevating them and brining a new direction and purpose as the characters become more integrated and powerful. I like the idea of Cap being less 'America' and more like this star emblazoned protector

They said "Sentry" was marvels version of Superman. But originally it was "Captain Marvel" That dc sued them for. Now they call him "Shazam" or whatever. But the truth of it is, any ultra powerful character with a cape is going to be referenced to Superman because he has been around since.....forever. Since Superman is the original standard for that kind of hero. It's unfair to bring up Superman.

Artwork looks pretty good. Anytime I see Spider-man and Thor together I gotta smile. Also, Spidey riding a dinosaur?? That makes me laugh.

I would challenge you to find anything in this world that is "original", but instead look at it this way. The origin or the idea of the character is irrelevant. It is the quality of the story that matters most. If you like it that is great. If you don't there is other magazines on the shelf.

When you transmit your negativity you're only trying to share what's in your heart.

I love this book. In a lot of ways it reminds me of Morrison's JLA run in the late 90's (one of my favorite comic runs of all time). The fact that it comes out twice a month gives Hickman a lot of room to tell his story. And given all the pieces he's set in motion in Avengers and New Avengers, that's a good thing.

As far as Hyperion goes, the Squadron Supreme was Marvel's jab at the Justice League way back when. So in way, Hyperion is Marvel's Superman. But why is that bad? DC has their analogue of Captain America (Guardian) as well as the Fantastic Four (Hank Henshaw & crew in the pages of Superman). Over at Marvel Thanos is a ripoff of Darkseid (oddly I like Thanos better). Very recently Marvel added Warior Woman to their ranks (wonder who that's an analogue for). For that matter Hyperion, Sentry, Gladiator, Captain Marvel, and the Blue Marvel are all analogues of Superman. I don't see a problem with it.
