COMICS: Cover To Frank Cho's SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 Revealed

Guess it wasn't a red herring after all! That 'Savage' teaser from last week was indeed signaling the arrival of a brand new Marvel NOW! Wolverine series by Frank Cho - but Logan won't be going it alone. Check out the cover and details past the jump..

So the most obvious guess turned out to be the right one. But, those who thought that 'Savage' teaser might mean something to do with The Savage Land were also correct, as the story will be set there, and feature Shanna the She-Devil as a supporting character.

Cho spoke to Marvel about his plans for they series, which he first conceived as "a cool Indiana Jones/Cthulhu type story". He says we will definitely see a more "bloody and savage" Wolverine, but that there will also be some humor there too..

"..The story takes place in the forbidden area of the Savage Land where an evil ancient god slumbers. Wolverine and others accidentally unleash it, while trying to get back home.

..I come from a humor background. I did Liberty Meadows daily newspaper comic strip for five years before I was recruited by Marvel. So you'll see lot of action and humor in this story. This isn't just a solo Wolverine story. It's actually a team-up story with Shanna the She-Devil. Both Wolverine and Shanna have similar assertive personalities. The story is not just a quest to get home; it's a story about surviving each other's company and the Savage Land."

Unfortunately for Ka-Zar fans, Cho says that character won't be appearing, but to keep an eye out for some other staples of The Savage Land - giant apes and dinosaurs. Click on the link below to check out the full interview.

The Wolverine in X-Treme X-Men is gay. He acts pretty much the same.

I love cho. Met him once he was so down to earth, and has ties in my area. Nobody draws chicks like cho. He might make me buy my first wolvie solo title since old man logan.

Wolverine has been getting it in alot lately, though. Domino, squirrle girl, Teon from gen hope. If he knocks down Shana, he moving up to hawkeye status.

People still whine about Grif?

ffs the guy's just giving his opinion, usually in a pretty funny manner. Grow a pair and learn to handle someone having an opinion different to yours, if not, debate. Don't bitch and moan and campaign for the guy to get banned or some shit.

Intruder is banned?? Yessss!!! God, i hated that guy so much and how he argued with everyone about Marvel and he was so mean to people as well..so Im glad he's gone f- him! As for Wolverine, will wait for feedback on the series and trades.
