Marvel Comics writer Briand Michael Bendis has been posting various pieces of artwork on his recently created Tumblr account. While doing so, he revealed the covers for Avengers Assemble #7 and Spider-Men #5 (both of which he wrote). The former was drawn by Mark Bagley and features the Mad Titan Thanos, while the latter (which will conclude Bendis' five-issue miniseries Spider-Men) is drawn by Jim Cheung and features Iron Man and Nick Fury alongside Peter Parker (the 616 Spider-Man) and Miles Morales (the Ultimate Spider-Man). Both issues will be hitting shelves in September. Check them out below:

What the hell universe is this taking place in. Black Fury, the real spiderman, the fake ultimate spider kid.

I swore that I recall a statement that Marvel would not do a cross over like this. Now they have to explain how Fury switched races between universes.

Perhaps its an explanation like they did in the show Enterprise with the Klingons how the early shows they didn't have ridges but later they did?

It's not the Ultimate line. It's the 616 universe, they're crossing over Ultimate characters LOGANXX36.

Hmmm... so Thanos gets the Gauntlet back? Also is that Marcus Fury or Ultimate Fury?

Avengers Assemble is in cannon with the regular Marvel Universe.

Spider-men will deal with regular marvel U. Peter Parker visiting the Ultimates Universe. They say he will be the only regular Marvel U. character to step foot in the Ultimate U.

@Marvel87 on that note I'd really like to see Coipel draw Thanos at some point possibly even redesign the costume a little.

Marvel has introduced the Black Fury to 616. This is apparently the illegitimate son of the white Fury. lol Thanos dead? Have ya'll learned nothing from reading comics, character death is only temporary. Gwen Stacey is the only character I can think of that has stayed dead.

Why are they recycling the Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet storyline again? It was epic enough the first time! I am tired just thinking about it!

@superotherside

Im guessing Ultimate Fury since he's wearing a coat, whereas Marcus Fury wears Cap's Super Soldier uniform.

@MrsTonyStark0507

I believe Marvel said that Avengers Assemble is actually in 616. This is supposed to be Thanos' legit return from his "disappearance" in Thanos Imperative. The Infinity Gauntlet is (I could almost guarantee) just a misleading cover for the sake of art.

both covers are sweet. I am the only one who noticed that the avengers are in the infinity gems in the reflection up close, though?

Its going to be odd with two Nick Furies. Usually in alternate universes one just has a goatie rather than an entirely different genetic and ancestral background.

Absolutely retarded to have in the 616 a second "Nick Fury" that is an Ultimate and film knock-off. Marvel needs to stop this crap with merging the two universes. The Ultimate universe was created to be different. Now cloning those characters over into the 616 is going to convolute that universe to the point where it's a terrible mess. Enough already.
