Like Doctor Strange and many other characters no doubt, Captain Marvel will be getting a post Secret Wars overhaul with a brand new issue #1 coming this Fall. Fan-favorite writer Kelly Sue DeConnick won't be sticking around, but taking over will be Agent Carter showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, with Kris Anka on art duty. You can check out Anka's "slightly modified" designs for Carol Danvers below, and find out what Marvel editor Sana Amanat had to say to Fast Company about the plans for the new series.



"Carol is really meant to be a soldier and a commander, and also a diplomat. We're really trying to build up this space complex and this space world. You'll really feel like there's an extension of the Avengers world into space, but not necessarily lost out in the Guardians of the Galaxy cosmos. It's rooted in Earth but also an extension into the galaxy."

I love the look. This costume is absolutely perfect. Carol looks good as ever. Excited for this new run! This and Doctor Strange(and hopefully GOTG, but only if they drop Bendis) will definitely be in my pull list!

Marvel is trying so hard to get people to like this character it's hilarious.
They don't know whether they want her to be Wonder Woman or Green Lantern.

Doesn't look much different than what I've seen. They changed her gloves and boots. Short hair, but this isn't he first time her hair has been short

Right so there was a bit of brouhaha among the writers/artists...whatever. Why do readers care? As long as she has consistent look it shouldn't matter if they want to give her a granny bun.

People complaining that she doesn't look "hot" anymore are the weak-minded imbeciles that got her look changed in the first place.

They're all "Aw, we actually have to focus on her character and personality and the story now? This blows"

Good riddance, they didn't understand her when she was ms marvel, and they sure as hell don't now. They aren't true fans of anything. Don't need them. Carol is awesome as ms or captain, but I like Captain more. The costume is more badass, and her personality less abrasive.
