Cuz' I see skills in the art above. Mad skills!

according to Trudey's analogy Wolverine would be Linda McCartney. I see a 60's-70's Rock Musician/X-men Fancast coming on.

Lol @ witty!! But in reality fox's movie would all be about Lennon, Harrison wouldn't even be in it, and during the early beginnings, and best would be either renamed and have no relation to the real life one at all, dropped all together or would be the main villain....

I just looked up him tracing...wow, I had no idea he stole so much art and traced so many photo's....that is bad. Sorry guys, I had no idea :P
Oarsis
Oarsis - 10/13/2011, 3:20 PM
I mean, most artist's need photos for inspiration...but he is stealing other pieces of art...

That is bad, he should be able to come up with origianl and creative things if he is going to be a comic book artist.
Oarsis
Oarsis - 10/13/2011, 3:25 PM
I can't help but to like him though. I hate the fact that he traces, but it seems to be more life like...Like @Intruder said. But,he also traces the body, most of the time it seems like, and he has stolen other artists bodies while drawing. And I can't help but love him and hate him.

headlopper - 10/13/2011, 3:25 PM
@Gaston- Regardless, he's an exceptional artist. There are sooo many facets to pencilling that, if you're not a pro you won't understand. Here's a few terms:
values
shading
contrast
perspective
human anatomy
worm's eye view
bird's eye view
foreshortening
vanishing points
multiple vanishing points
etc.....
All of these values are used in drawing panels. Each person in the panel HAS to accord with his/her surroundings , and be in perspective, with all the right facial expressions the writer's asking for. Do you really think that this guy would have ALL the work he gets from the major publisher's if he was a hack. C'mon man, you're being to harsh on a guy with incredible skills.

Phoenix by Greg Land Pictures, Images and Photos

All artists use models. How does this guy think the 'Mona Lisa' was made?

to each his/her own...i've enjoyed his work since his Sojourn days...

and his Ultimate Power stuff...get outta here!!! it's more enjoyable than Perez's stuff in JLA/Avengers. the fight scenes are pack more punches for my buck, especially, when Fury let the Hulk loose and fight EVERYBODY..two versions of Squadron Supreme, the Ultimates, X-Men AND Fantastic Four...!!!

now, as for Iceman...i think by now, he should be joining The Avengers..the MAIN team, oh, or Cage's New Avengers. he's a powerhouse..and WHEN will Marvel treat him as one?? and i wanna see him and a Human Torch (which ever it is..Johnny, Jim or Toro..or even the chick torch) in the same team, for once.

Alex Ross takes photographs of people in costume as references for his photos too, but doesn't trace them.
