Hank Pym until just recently has been one of those founding Marvel characters that every writer the previous 25 years has loved to take a big steaming dump on. I think the character, given his place in 616 history deserves better than he gets from these hacks. I am guessing by the end of this story arc he will either be a villain, insane, or dead......or probably all of the above. Par for the course.

and I am sure they are considering it canon even though there should be no way it is. Truth is there is no canon anymore. Lazy bastards at Marvel make no effort these days to worry about canon or continuity.
