COMICS: Jason Aaron Says Identity Of THOR May Be Revealed "Sooner Than You Think"

Readers of Marvel's current Thor title are getting to know the new Goddess of Thunder, but one of the big questions still remains: who is she? Well, series writer Jason Aaron doesn't reveal that, but does suggest the unveiling of her identity is on the horizon...

When word hit that Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman would introduce a brand new, female Thor last year, one of the major questions on people's minds was, "Well, who is she?" And, nearly four months into the Avengers NOW! series, that question remains unanswered. Comic Book Resources chatted with Aaron (who previously penned the acclaimed series Thor: God of Thunder) and brought up the case of her identity. "I've said all along that I want to have fun with that mystery, but it's not a mystery we're going to drag out for 20 issues," the writer explained. "It's something I want to dive right into, and that starts with [original Thor] Odinson literally making a list of all the women he thinks could possibly be under the mask of the new Thor. Then we'll see him start to tick those names off as he goes around and tries to figure out who she is. As he's marking candidates off, readers will be doing the same. That means you might get the answer to who's under that mask sooner than you think." Though readers are curious to learn of the woman weilding the hammer, Aaron says that the mysterious identity is not the sole focus of the book. There are a number of other elements to the character, he elaborates. "As I've said all along, though -- that's not the story. The mystery is fun to play with, and I love that it's a way to introduce her, but that's not her story. Her story really starts once we find out who is underneath that mask and what's going on with her." The next issue of the series, Thor #4, hits shelves on January 28th. What do you make of Aaron's comments?

So with this She-Thor, did they start renumbering crap like they did with Daredevil? I want to read Aaron's Thor series in full, anyone know what trades I need? I read the God Killer arc.

I get why people are complaining but I really don't mind the renumbering. Thor and all the other new #1's have been pretty good.

Aaron's run starts with Thor: God of Thunder. That series ended and this one took its place. God of Thunder has 25 issues, and I think they're all available in trades now.

@digymastr
Agreed, this series has been fantastic so far. I've also been reading Angela: Asgard's Assassin and All-New Captain America, which have both been pretty good.

I've fallen behind a bit, and haven't actually read Thor since the God Butcher story, but have we already ruled out future-Thor's granddaughter? The one he meets when they're building the bomb?

Haven't read All-New Cap mainly because I don't like Remender, but I have enjoyed this run on Thor so far

@Tars
Stuart Immonen's art makes All-New Cap an amazing read on its own.
