Matt Fraction is great. Loved his run on Immortal Iron Fist, and all his Thor one-shots, but why does it seem like every big Marvel event , Thor's gotta die again!?

They just recently brought back Thor from the dead, and his movie is getting ready to come out. There is no way in hell he will die in this.

The prequel issue for this was fantastic. If they can keep it up it will be one hell of a story.

I'm just a little iffy about Fraction. I know a lot of people like him, but I really don't like much of anything he's done. Immortal Iron Fist was mediocre at best. His run on Blade was so good it got cancelled after 12 issues. His Punisher issues were a joke. I just can't get into him...Brubaker is a god among comic writers. I would have much rather had him doing this.

Not to mention the 'secret that lay hidden since the dawn of time'. It is very similar to Blackest Night. I know the two companies go back and forth 'borrowing' ideas from one another, but it hasn't been that long since Blackest Night ended.

Not that similar really. Blackest Night was about the dead rising, and we don't even know if they really become gods or just warriors for the God of Fear. The only similarity is that people are being mind controlled (possibly) which wasn't a new idea before Blackest Night.

Too soon, two years is too soon to start making another big event. Both "status quo" of Dark Reign and the Heroic Age should have lasted two years each. I'm still burnt out from stupid @$$ secret invasion.

@everyone This is nothing like blackest night, period!

@spectre88 too soon for an event?? Dark Reign lasted like a year and a half. Heroic Age...I wouldn't even call that an event, its just the time after seige. Siege WAS an epic fail and probably why they want to push this new one out. Secret Invasion was forever ago too. Lame!

Fear Itself looks very promising and from talking to Fraction at C2E2 it should be fairly dark. Looking forward to it.

Good effort, and I love the idea of a "trailer" for a comic book story.

But why does the narrator sound like a 15-year-old kid trying to use his best Batman Voice?

@ kirynthemighty - No need to get angry at everyone, they're all entitled to their opinion (and I do agree with you about comparing it to Blackest Night).

I understand Secret Invasion was the last event. Check my post again, I referred to Dark Reign and Heroic Age as "status quos." Siege was pretty much a mini-event.

However, what I was trying to say was that I felt burnt out from the back to back Marvel events that seemed to occur one after the other from Disassembled to Secret Invasion. Personally, I found the two-year break to be quite refreshing and would have liked to have seen either Dark Reign or more so the Heroic Age last a bit longer (again we agree these were not really events).

In the end, the reality is I will end up reading Fear Itself and I am open to the fact that I will probably love it, probably because it is Fraction. I’m just saying I would have liked a another year or two without a major Marvel crossover event.

@spectre88 I totally agree with everyone has there own opinions and thats great. I am just sick of every time I go to a post on here that 85% of the people are [female dog]ing and saying that it sucks or is going to suck, no matter what the subject matter is (grif). I guess I am just wondering what the hell people are looking for, and if all you're going do is [female dog] about everything then you are going to be one miserable soul and not even I would want to take it from you. :)
