With Thor only a couple of weeks away (in most countries anyway) and Captain America: The First Avenger set to hit theaters in July, it looks like Marvel aren't slowing down when it comes to using the comic books to raise fan awareness. As well as new #1 issues for both characters, a 48-page comic book will see the big screen versions of Captain America and Thor tell of even more of their adventures!

CAP AND THOR! AVENGERS
Written by FRED VAN LENTE
Art & Cover by RON LIM

This summer, Marvel Studios is bringing to life two of the AVENGERS in THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. But their adventures don’t end on the silver screen. Pick up this 48-page book for two whole new stories starring Thor, Cap, and all your favorite characters from the films! Citadel of Spires: When Fandral—one of the Warriors Three—is taken captive, it’s up to Thor, Sif and Loki to get him back… despite going up against one of the fiercest creatures in the nine realms!

U-Base: When Hydra’s U-Boats take out an Allied target, it’s up to CAPTAIN AMERICA and his HOWLING COMMANDOS to strike back! The heroes sneak in to a Hydra U-Base, but there they find that the tentacles in the Hydra logo might not be simply symbolize! From FRED VAN LENTE (Amazing Spider-Man, Incredible Hercules) and RON LIM (Silver Surfer, Infinity Gauntlet) comes a duo of Adventures from this summer’s hottest heroes!

Man they seriously perfected these suits for the big-screen, and look even greater as a comic. All they need is Hulk & Iron Man, and we're set Haha. Great find buddy!

Got to agree with AklashPahk. The movie costumes look AWESOME when drawn.

This may actually trigger a new trend for comicbook superhero costumes, particularly those with possible cinematic adaptations. Design them in real life first; looking good and not campy. Then draw them on the page!

@VictorHugo-- really? You're still on the no Nazis thing...? I'll admit, it would have been pretty cool to see Cap bust some Nazi skulls (eh, d I even dare consider that a clever pun? No... No I don't...) But at least Nazis exist in the movies... Think of it like this: HYDRA is to the Nazis what Captain America is to the United States Military. The difference being that he's one man, and HYDRA is an organization. Now, if your average, everyday G.Is can take care of Nazis, why, as a tactician, would you waste Captain America on missions that can easily be completed by these same G.Is? The answer? You wouldn't. You'd send him out to deal with situations that would maximize his usefulness, such as unleashing him on HYDRA.

And from a sort of "Meta" perspective, how interesting would a movie about a Super Soldier beating up random Nazis be after about five minutes? Not nearly as interesting as a movie about the same Super Soldier put into situations that actually challenge him.

The problem is that Hydra is so not menacing. They´re are as menacing as the Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM).
