woah awesome cover. Looks like both teams really want wolverine on their side. Pretty obvious, considering he is best at what he does.

@luckylu - You don't read comics. When you read comics, you can respond with an educated response.

that is some of the worst art work i have ever seen. seriously looks like some sort of random submission art work that gets sent in. If this is such a big event marvel should be using its top artist to do the work. Not the medicore ones.

So whats the deal with Colossus - does he only sometimes wear Juggernaut's helmet? Was he required to shave his head to wear it?

@luckylu yeah, I don't like it that much, maybe because I got used to wolverine being all dark and savage and no smiles, now he's like a overprotective dad with claws.

i miss 90's Wolvie in his classic uniform heck the brown and yellow would be better.I was thinking the other day where are the shoulder protectors on his outfit. That's on of the things that made Wolvie look cool now he runs around all bare armed. They don't even make him look like he used to lol they seriously had him looking like a drunk old haggard ed dude in i think Wolverine 300 i was like wdf.i love the way he is drawn in WVATXM AND UCXF though i miss the days of sticking to one character design

This isn't the first time Bachalo has ruined a cover with his post-modern stylized drawings. He's an incredible peniclist, and I imagine, just like in all other instances, the comic itself will look fantastic.

Although, I'm curious as to why it says Bachalo did the cover, when on the comic, clearly that's Townsend's stamp.

This is an example of Bachalo's stylized art.

Tim Townsend, colorist, occasional pencilist

He and Bachalo work together a lot, as he colors for Bachalo. And they have collaborated on many great Marvel X-Team covers. But whatever they're doing with Wolverine and the X-Men covers is killing me.

Tim did penciling on several Astonishing X-Men comics that are outstanding.

This criticism reminds me of all the people who look at abstract expressionist art in a museum and ignorantly say: 'my 8yr son could do that'.

The reality is he, you, your nephew... can't. So, just stop.

The art is a stye. What makes it good is it's ability to communicate a message. This cover establishes an environment, a mood, creates tension, is well balanced, and tells a story.

There are plenty of aspects you may not like (you don't have to appreciate all art) but declaring it terrible (or comparing it to some other colorful noun) is just ignorant, even for a comic book forum.

and I'm willing to bet that most of the art that you like makes your favorite character look 'cool'. Sadly this is the lowest form of art.

Townsend is an inker. I did not mean to type colorist. But he has done penciling on Astonishing X-Men and the Flash.

Thank you for pointing out Chris's stamp, I didn't see it (although it's plainly there) and was very confused about Townsend doing a cover.
