As Daniel Way's long run on Deadpool comes to an end, Marvel have announced the creative team that will usher in a new era for the fan-favorite character as part of their Marvel NOW! relaunch..



Ol Wade Wilson sure does love his Mexican food. Comedians and some-time comic scribes Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan are on board as writers, with Tony Moore supplying the pretty pictures. So aside from this, we know that it'll be Kieron Gillen and Greg Land on Iron Man, Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic on Thor, and Mark Waid And Leinil Yu on Hulk. Who will be announced next? I feel Deadpool is a metalhead as well but that nutty shitbird could also love Lady Gaga too.

I hope this is good. I used to love Deadpool, but I haven't enjoyed any of his comics in what seems like ages. I really haven't enjoyed Daniel Way's run. He seems to focus too much on wacky humor for children, and too little on the insane and brutal violence.

Shit. I still don't know what the [frick] is going on.
Is this a reboot? A new arc? A new idea?

Either way, I'm glad. This'll be good for new-comers and it may situate Marvel's agonizingly confusing continuity issues. God, Wolverine's in over 6 teams for God sakes!

But on the flipside, is this going across all of the MU? I mean, is this Avengers, Marvel Knights, X-Men, etc? Is it a full-wide reboot? Also, they just [frick]ing made a new Incredible Hulk with Aaron and Silvestri (Which I was pumped for, then he left mid issue 2) and now they're making a new arc?

Oh well, the costumes may be a little odd, but I'll be damned if the writers/pencilers aren't freaking sick!
It's a tetter-Totter situation.

I have wanted way off this book for a long time, but now they put a [frick]ing comedian on the book. WTF do i feel like they are going to be making deadpool even more of a joke then before when Way was writing it. This is making me VERY F$&%ing nervous. You can still have deadpool funny without making a f$(*ing joke of him. Read whatever Remender has put on the page and you'll get how he SHOULD be written. God I hope this is better. I've wanted to get Way of the book for so long because he made him a laughing stock and no story line, but I hope we didn't just trade a crappy writer for another one that thinks deadpool is a funny story. Give me Remender or Gail Simone.

@GambitFreak - it's not a reboot. Marvel Now is a marketing name given to what was announced i the article above: A changing of the guard for several comics. Some titles will be cancelled (Avengers Acadamy I believe is one), some renumbered to #1's again (Thor...yet again), and some new titles (like Uncanny Avengers).

@Intruder - Yeah, lots of money is going to be going Marvels way from my meager budget.

Fabian Nicieza and Joe Kelly were the real Deadpool stories. More Nicieza because he created the character. The rest is just taking a character and making it as pathetic as possible with no explanation or apparent reason.

as a comedian I love Brian Posehn as a writer for deadpool.......eh...

I guess time will tell

But it worries me because as kirynthemighty & BigDamnHero have stated Daniel Ways run on deadpool was AWFUL beyond words to say the least

He took ALL the violence out of deadpool, they glazed over the fact in the 90's he had some sort of above normal strenght he was a highly trained assasin and was feared in the marvel universe and was known as being a loose cannon

in Daniel Ways he was a little pipsqueek who got beat up by every a-d list hero and celebrity and seemed more like a little kid brother


I want a violent yet dark and hilarious Deadpool title

Deadpool Kills the marvel universe is the best We have had in years since the 90's deadpool mini series and Joe Kellys run on it
