Avengers Vs. X-Men or AvX is a limited series comic book crossover to be published by Marvel Comics beginning in April 2012, that involves the rebirth of the Phoenix Force, the subsequent war between the Avengers (consisting of the main team, the New Avengers, and the Secret Avengers) and the X-Men, and the emergence of a future Age of Ultron, as foreshadowed in Marvel Point One. It will be a 12-issue limited series following Avengers: X-Sanction and X-Men Regenesis story lines.

The event is preceded by Avengers Vs. X-Men #0, which will be published in March 2012. According to Marvel, Avengers Vs. X-Men is the end result of all the threads from the Fear Itself, X-Men: Schism and Avengers: The Children's Crusade stories coming together.

Not that this is one of the greatest events, but it would be one amazing movie. Or a three part like Lord of the Rings.

So awesome! Love seeing a different mix of XMen fighting together. I'm team X, but it's obvious they're not going to win this, and a fascist for peace is still a fascist. If things look bad for the Avengers in issue 7, they'll pull out the win in issue 12. Every time. Not that there's anything wrong with using a classical, familiar narrative structure - its used because it makes an effective story. But I hope things don't get too bad for my beloved X Men afterwards, and I do hope that Scarlett Witch pays the price for destroying most of mutantkind as a species.

Why do I get the feeling that the Phoenix Five will bring back The Wasp or somebody else from the dead??

I haven't really been reading the Marvel Universe for a decade now... Can someone explain to me how the X-Men could possibly "rebrand the Avengers as a Global Terrorist Network"? Is this mind control, or are the people of the MU so damn wishy-washy that they leap to support a group they "hate and fear" over the most publicly supported heroes there are?

Yeah, Cyke has gone off the deep-end. And everyone except Wolverine and Hope have taken a dive with him. Mutants spurning their countries, the laws they once helped to enforce as heroes, and embracing this fairy tale solution to the world's problems are going to get their asses handed to them one way or another (the cover of Cyke and Frost fighting shows if the outside forces don't stop them, they will likely fall apart and stop themselves). Curious what the ramifications for all this will be when it's over.

@Intruder - Agreed. And it could be Wolvie, and I could see him do that if Cyke begged him to, or to keep Hope from doing it herself. But more fitting for the Prof to finally 'step up' (he can do that now, and hasn't done shit in forever) and put him down, and also show the X-Men that drank the Cyclops kool-aid what a bad decision they have made while doing it.
