COMICS: The Cover To The Final Issue Of CIVIL WAR II Teases The Ultimate Fate Of Tony Stark
All signs point to the outcome of this Civil War not ending well for Tony Stark, and Marko Djurdjevic's cover to the final issue definitely adds to the evidence. Could it be a red herring, perhaps?..
We already know a little about the status quo of the Marvel Comics Universe following the events of Civil War II, and everything indicates that Tony Stark is not going to be in the picture - but, does that mean he won't survive? All of the marketing up until now definitely seems to be teasing that outcome, but I think it's a little too obvious myself.
At any rate, thanks to IGN we have a look at the cover of issue #8, which is due out in December and will be the final installment in this latest event. The image shows Stark's Iron Man helmet lying on the ground, looking like pretty much every other character involved in the battle has had a crack at it.
“There are many people who look at that cover and read whatever they want to read into it no matter what I say,” writer Brian Micahle Bendis told IGN. “I have decided to get very zen about the whole thing and let it unfold and let people see what they want to see.”
Will the heroes of the Marvel Universe wield the power of ‘predictive justice’ to change the future or battle to protect tomorrow? The additional issue of ‘Civil War II’ will bring the explosive event to its powerful conclusion, but with an Inhuman at the center of the conflict with the ability to see what’s to come, has the future already been foretold or can it be changed?
Civil War II #8 arrives in stores December 28. Tell us, what do you think will happen?
