COMICS: The Entire Marvel Universe Will Be "All-New, All-Different" Post SECRET WARS

We knew about the All-New, All-Different Avengers, but Marvel has now released a new teaser image suggesting that we'll see a company-wide re-branding after the upcoming Secret Wars event. There aren't many details aside from that, but click on for what we have so far...

We've been told Secret Wars won't lead to a full reboot, but by the looks of this latest teaser image from Marvel, we're definitely looking at a complete re-branding at the very least. The below teaser aside, they publisher hasn't released any more details but after Secret Wars when continuity jumps ahead "8 Months Later", expect everything to be "All-New, All-Different". Yay?

Here's what Marvel Senior Vice President of Publishing Tom Brevoort had to say about the 8 month time-jump in an interview with Marvel earlier in the week. "In the same way that events jumped forward in time eight months in 'Avengers' and 'New Avengers' during the lead-up to 'Secret Wars,' so too when we enter the new Marvel Universe eight months will have passed for all of the characters as well," he explained. "This provides our creators, even apart from Secret Wars, to drop into exciting new situations and status quos on the fly. So look for surprises and mysteries and changes galore as series resume in the new MU."

We'll update when more info becomes available, but for now, what are your thoughts?

So... it's like how DC Comics did a "One Year Later" storyline right after Infinite Crisis?

... That's cool. One Year Later kicked ass!

And at least Marvel seems to have some idea of what the hell they're DOING with this crossover and its resolution-- unlike DC, whose Convergence event has been both really stupid and largely pointless.

I'm looking forward to the new Fantastic Four book they'll release. I bet I have an idea where they'll get design ideas from... ;)

I'm hoping this means it'll all come back to normal. I mean, how much more different it can get?

I will say this as simple as I can put it.
Comic Book Movies is going to kill movies.
First Person View games will kill gaming.
Rebooting Comic Book Heroes for the sake of Diversity and an excuse to create more Disney Infinte figures will finally put the nail in the coffin.

Here's the thing, I'm probably the only guy who isn't against all these relaunches. Why? Because that's exactly how I got into comics, through the Marvel Now relaunch. If you pay attention, whenever there's a new creative team they restart the series to issue 1 in order to differentiate from the previous team's run and to also bring in new readers. It's a smart and understandable reason as to why Marvel does it.

Meh. This fall will suck when it comes to comics.

I'm okay with the different relaunches, but I wish Marvel and DC would keep the original numbering.

@digymastr good point. I really think the only people that care about the renumbering are collectors because I could see it affecting that market.

@Bulldawg2014 I can see that, although last time the market catered to collectors that was in the 90's and we all know how well that turned out. A small run of an excellent series (to me anyways) can be just as collectible as 200 issues of another series.

Exactly my point and still charge 5 bucks for it.

I do not give a crap about Marvel comics right now. The movies/shows are the real new Marvel. The comics are now the stupid stuff they do on the side. Spidey, Wolverine, Cap, Ironman, Thor, all ruined. Only ones I can think of that are actually ben in some pretty good stuff during this new direction is Scarlet Witch (though she's still Magneto's daughter to me), Rogue (last I read), Havok's been involved in some ok stuff, and Cyclops has had some awesome arcs since Schism. But even all those examples have they're share of big misses. I just want a reboot.

As long as Dan Slott isn't writing Spider-man no more. I'll never touch anything he writes for Spidey again.

I swear the amount of xenophobia on this site in regards to changes in the comics is hilarious. "OH NO SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT WE ALL KNOW THAT MEANS IT WILL SUCK" If people like Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and Chris Claremont thought like you guys we would have missed out on a ton of great comics.
