This February Marvel will release a five issue miniseries titled Winter Soldier: The Bitter March by current Captain America writer Rick Remender, and illustrated by his Punisher: In The Blood collaborator Roland Boschi.

The story will be set in 1966, during the former sidekick's time as a brainwashed Soviet assassin, and sees S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Soviets vying for a secret Nazi formula under Hydra control.

Also Remember speaks out on Bucky's state of mind in the series stating that his mind is still there and trying to rebel against his brainwashing.

"He was a tool who had very little control of his own mind, but I will be exploring how Bucky Barnes is underneath all of it still," Remender is quoted. "Even back then, there was a piece of him trying to stand back up."
