DC Comics has today announced plans to release the DC Versus Marvel Omnibus and the DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus this August. These crossovers aren't easy to come by, so this is definitely cause for celebration if you're a comic book fan.
While not all of the titles included in these collections are necessarily classics, there are those which are and plenty of the stories were dreamed up by A-List creative teams.
With any luck, this means JLA/Avengers is one step closer to receiving a new wide release. That series was phenomenal but isn't easily accessible, a shame considering the fact it features a battle between Captain America and Batman and a sequence with Superman wielding Mjolnir and Captain America's shield!
With James Gunn overseeing all aspects of DC as DC Studios co-CEO, we can't help but wonder whether he's had a role to play in this.
