DEVIL'S REIGN Cover Reveals The Heroes The Kingpin Will Target In Marvel's Next Big Event Series

Marvel Comics has revealed new details about its next big event series, Devil's Reign! The Kingpin has assembled a team of villains to put an end to New York superheroes, but what secrets is he hiding?

After laying the groundwork for this over the past few years, writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto are set to re-team for Devil's Reign, a new event series launching this December.

Described as a classic-style Marvel Comics crossover event, the story revolves around Kingpin as he broadens his lofty goals in a scheme that will unleash dark secrets about some of Marvel’s greatest heroes. Having kept these shocking truths to himself for ages, Kingpin is ready to ruthlessly expose his foes to gain more power than ever before...and he has a lot of dirt on these heroes!

Wilson Fisk went from Kingpin to mayor of the biggest city in America and is going to bring his full criminal and political power to bear on the superheroes who call NYC home. The man who once destroyed Daredevil has set his sights on The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and more. Fisk is also set to have an army of supervillains on his side, including Crossbones, Taskmaster, Typhoid Mary, Shocker, Whiplash, Rhino, and Krave.

"Our Daredevil plan just kept getting bigger and bigger, to the point where it would clearly affect the Marvel Universe in huge ways," Zdarsky explains. "Thankfully, Marvel recognized this as well and gave Marco and I the opportunity to tell the story on a massive stage with Devil's Reign! This is a proper Marvel event springing from the pages of Daredevil and I think all Marvel readers will love what’s coming!"

This sounds like it should be a fun ride, and as we're sure Fisk will eventually be bested by the Big Apple's mightiest heroes, we can't help but wonder who the next mayor of New York will be!

I feel bad for the artist. Finally gets to draw a big superhero crossover and has to draw Ben Reilly and Miles in that horrible costume.

Always envisioned a Dark Reign 2 type of story/event since Kingpin became mayor.

Really cool that we're getting a DD focused Marvel event & they're both looking absolutely fantastic in their newer suits.

What's the deal with everyone becoming mayor?? Wasn't J Jonah Jameson mayor at one point? Aswell as Norman Osborn 😂 maybe spiderman will run for this pointless position too.

Also I am so not digging spidermans suit. Definitely should have taken more inspiration from the Ben Reilly suit, just modernised it slightly. Oh well.

Looks dope. I'm intrigued by this and Timeless. I'm also really pumped for the new Wolverine story I hope we get some art for it soon too. As for the Avemgers Forever, I'm ready for Jason Aaron to go. I can't believe this is the same writer who gave us an amazing Thor run. His Avengers is atrocious.
