DIE HARD Director John McTiernan Says Comic Book Movies Are 'Made By Fascists'

Comic Book Movies and especially superhero movies are the norm these days - ranking in big bucks and big buzz but DIE HARD director, John McTiernan, has some not so kind things to say about them.

Superhero franchises like those of Marvel and DC are blooming, becoming even more popular as  time comes  and they have taken Hollywood by storm. But if you ever thought about the director of the classic (and one of my favorites) Die Hard doing a comic book movie, then forget about it.

Speaking with Premiere France, John McTiernan said some really unexpected and rude things about movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and the comic book movie front, as a whole, even going as far as calling them fascists. The good translation to english is courtesy of Den Of Geek who did a better job than Google Translate or my french could ever do.

I hate the majority of major studio films for political reasons, i'm annoyed the second they start.  Captain America, i'm not joking..The cult of american masculinity is one of the worst things to have happened to the world in the last 50 years. Hundreds  of thousands of people have died for this idiotic illusion. So, how is it possible to watch a film called Captain America?  All they're making is comic book adaptations. There's action but no human beings, they're films made by fascists. They're making all the kids in the world think they'll never be important enough to have a film made about their life. And it's a unique moment in the history of cinema, it didn't use to be like this. A kid used to be able to learn how a man or woman should act by watching films. Morals. Comics make heroes for bussiness.

Well...um, that was it, thanks, Mr. Tiernan.

While John McClane was a anti-hyper masculinity hero, so it is sadder to see the character become one in the latter sequels. What do you think? Isn't he dead wrong about these movies? Or is he right? Whatever your opinions are, leave them down below and make sure to share this article. Sound off below.
