Disney Has Three Marvel TV Series in Development

Disney Has Three Marvel TV Series in Development

Disney CEO Robert Iger sat down for a lengthy interview with the Wall Street Journal, and among the subjects covered -- albeit briefly -- was Disney's efforts with recent acquisition Marvel Comics.

What follows is the relative portion of the interview:

WSJ: In the past year-plus you've made two splashy acquisitions: Marvel and Playdom. How are the integrations of those two companies progressing?

Mr. Iger: [With Marvel] we've taken back distribution, or bought back distribution from [Viacom Inc.'s] Paramount, for some critical franchises. Notably, "Iron Man 3" will be distributed by us, and "Avengers." We're developing three live-action series for ABC and ABC Family. You can buy Marvel products at Disney stores. And we're working on Marvel games.

Not much there, but it will be interesting to see what the other two series beyond the Hulk will be.

Intruder, I haven't heard anything about them dropping it. I don't imagine Fox letting both of those properties slip away from them. That being said, there is some sort of deadline on when they have to get started on them, so we'll see how it plays out.

I really don't know, but I can't imagine it can be much longer before they have to be in production -- especially on Daredevil.

He says they're developing those series for ABC and ABC Family, so it's not Punisher.

This is good news though, because we really only knew they were trying to make Hulk, with the possibility of Cloak and Dagger. Now we know they are actually developing 3.One is most likely Cloak and Dagger and a mysterious third one.
InSpace
InSpace - 11/7/2010, 7:34 PM
Uh guys one is Incredible Hulk, which has been mentioned before, another is probably Cloak and Dagger (for ABC family),since it's been mentioned before and Heroes for Hire is not gonna happen since they are planning a Iron Fist short film and a possible Luke Cage project, and I have to rule out Moon Knight sadly (since NBC has The Cape which is similar to Moon Knight and CBS had a series called Moonlight, so to not confuse the viewers they probably wont go forward with it) and the Punisher wont work for their channel.

So I'm either guessing Power Pack, which would work for their ABC family group if they age the characters a little more) but might not garner many viewers since no one knows about them and arnt that intresting and to tell you the truth quite lame.

But what i'm hoping for is Young Avengers, which would be a really smart move by Marvel since it will sell alot of merch and will deff garner alot of viewers since it has Avengers in the title. but might have some problems since it requires the Avengers to be around for awhile and has a Skrull/Kree charachte which would require some rights and alot of explanation and the kree/skrull war to happen and also needs the scarlet witch.

But what I am also hoping for is for Marvel to cancel their Runaways film and make it to a series. It would be a smart move and could also garner a crossover with cloak and dagger. It would also require some problems with a mutant character and a skrull trannie but it could also be resolved.

.......Wow I wrote alot.

Oh and question: would you guys be intresed in me casting either: A Marvel tv series
(any of the ones you guys mentioned already)

The rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Or a DC Cinematic Universe
California

I hope they DON'T go forward with a Hulk TV series. I'd much rather keep seeing cinematic adaptations with a sequel to TIH after The Avengers!

If they get the FF rights back, and make a TV show out of it, they'd have to boot No Ordinary Family off the air :P

guys someone posted the tv shows they are making and the channels they will be released on in the article that let you know Marvel was doin a Hulk show. Thats when everyone started speculating about Ruffalo playing on show or not! Look it up I cant remember off the top of my head what they were. found one of the articles

• Heroes for Hire (focusing on ex-con Luke Cage offering to take on bad guys for a price)
• The Eternals (a race of super-powered beings live amid humanity in secret, inspiring legends)
• Agents of Atlas, Alter Ego (private investigator Jessica Jones takes on cases involving superhumans)
• Moon Knight, the Red Hood (a low-rent criminal discovers a cloak that gives him superpowers)
• Ka-Zar (a Tarzan-type and his saber-toothed tiger must journey to the concrete jungle to seek justice)
• Daughters of the Dragon (a dynamic female duo, one with a bionic arm and the other a granddaughter of a samurai, open a private-detective agency)
• The Punisher (one man wages a war on crime; already adapted as three feature films).

thats the shows and here is the link but I think there was another that said the channels!!

All empty promises! : (

It feels like ages since Daredevil came out. Surely those rights should be back in Disney/Marvel hands soon. I'd love to see Fantastic Four back in the hands of Disney. Not because I like them that much but because they have a really good gallery of rogues. I'm not sure if I'm really keen on the live action stuff on TV. I'm not sure how they are going do the Hulk. Heroes For Hire would work really well.
