FORTNITE X MARVEL: ZERO WAR Teaser Pays Homage To SECRET WARS By Revealing Spider-Man's New Costume

Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War is the highly anticipated comic mini-series that will see the Marvel Universe collide with the world of Fortnite, and it arrived in comic book stores this past Wednesday.

The first issue in this five-part saga was an absolute blast, and the event promises to leave a tremendous impact on both universes. The Amazing Spider-Man will mark the occasion with a brand-new suit, and you can check out the unveiling of the "Spider-Man Zero Suit" right now (via GameFragger.com) before witnessing it in action in both the comic series and in Fortnite!

Fans will be able to unlock the suit in-game ahead of its Fortnite Item Shop debut with a redeemable code in each first-print edition comic issue of Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War #1 (so, if you haven't already picked up a copy, you may want to rush to do so as soon as possible).

"There’ll be a few things you see in both the game and the comic - mostly in our final issue," writer Christos Gage told IGN in a recent interview. "But for the most part, what happens in the game and what happens in the comic are different fronts in the same war. Some questions that players might have about the game are answered in the comic, and vice versa, though neither are required to follow the story in the other."

The comic's story follows the inhabitants on the Island who are locked in what seems to be a never-ending war, and only one thing has the potential to turn the tide: a crystallized fragment of the Zero Point that was cast into the Marvel Universe. For the first time, fans will witness iconic Fortnite characters adventure alongside heroes such as Captain Marvel, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Shuri.

Comics have no soul these days. Comic runs barely make it into double digit issues before being relaunched with a big cheesy number 1 on the cover, and they often even relaunched with the same creative team. Legacy characters and new costumes, temporary deaths, and crossovers are just devices to help boost comic sales. However, over time they're having diminshing returns, and burning out long term readers.

Immortal Hulk was the last Marvel or DC comic that I bought every issue of and loved. It seems Marvel and DC have forgotten that great creative teams telling great stories are what we actually pick up comics for.

If you don't play Fortnite then this isn't for you. Let those who do play and like comics enjoy this run for what it is. It has zero influence or affect on anything that came before and any new runs with Spider-Man. It baffles me how people have become so entitled that they want everything specifically catered to them and only them. It's ok. Not everything is made for everyone.

Marvel Studios better also do their own homage to that Spidey suit down the road when the time comes and if they're heading to Secret Wars.

Ugly, indistinct, and way over-busy just like everything else these days. But ultimately meaningless.

@Zappy - it’s better looking from his other costume with big bug like headlights for eyes on mask that was worst

@AnthonyVonGeek - I’d love to be a fly on the wall in Warner Bros’ PR department right now. Ezra can’t go two days without making headline news for all the wrong reasons.
