So Del Toro was offered Thor 3 years ago by Avi Arad. Think he would've done a better job than Kenneth Branagh? It was rumored years ago that Del Toro was approached but apparently he did actually receive an offer that fell through for unknown reasons.

Del Toro also takes his name out of the running for directing Doctor Strange. There was a rumor a while back (years) that Del Toro would direct a movie about the Sorcerer Supreme, based on a script written by the venerable Neil Gaiman. Sadly, this never came to pass, which is what Del Toro is alluding to in the video.

And as for a shared Disney Cinematic Universe?* I just have one question. What Disney character would be the equivalent of Nick Fury and bring Mickey, Donald and Goofy together?

*Editor's Note: Del Toro and Favreau are talking about connecting The Haunted Mansion (Del Toro) and Magic Kingdom (Favreau) together, not necessarily classic Disney characters.
