This June, mutantkind will host another Hellfire Gala, and it's already shaping up to be a night that Marvel Comics fans dare not miss. Creators Gerry Duggan, Russell Dauterman, Matteo Lolli, C.F. Villa, and Kris Anka will deliver 72 pages loaded with high-stakes drama, shocking character developments, and of course, plenty of showstopping superhero fashion.

At last year’s gala, mutants changed the face of the solar system, terraforming Mars and claiming it for mutantkind. This time around, they’ll once again set out to bring radical transformation to the Marvel Universe and are inviting every superhero on the planet to witness it.

However, when an uninvited guest crashes the party, the chaos that ensues will cause cracks in the very foundation of Krakoa and lead directly into the biggest Marvel story of the year - Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti’s Judgement Day! Marvel Comics will also reveal the new X-Men team, while the seeds for what’s to come in the franchise over the next few years are also set to be planted.

"Last summer your host Emma Frost invited you to celebrate Krakoa with some fireworks. This year, it's about celebrating mutantdom's friendship with humanity," Duggan explained. "Once again, we have a murderer's row of talent crafting a one-shot with revelations that will chart the biggest stories in the Marvel Universe. All that, and meet a new team of X-Men."

It feels like there is a new X-Men team in the comics every few months now. 🤷‍♂️

@datfigures - Thats only because there's a new X-Men team in the comics every few months now.

I like how they’re streamlining the new xmen logo. Looks badass and I hope they use it for the new movies

@JFerguson - The second I saw that logo used for the legends wave I knew it would be the logo the MCU went with. Didn’t like it at first, but it’s definitely growing up me

Although I feel a lot of my excitement for the current state of X-men has gone since Hickman has left tbh.

Didn't they make a spectacle out of announcing the new team just recently? Feels like yesterday, but then again I kind of forgot how time works over the last years.

God this is horrible. X-Men aren't even a shadow of their former selves. X-Men has forgotten where it's come from and its roots. Even though I wasn't a fan of Hickman's changes, at least it was all written well, even if I didn't like the direction.

Now its just getting embarrassing. Reset the status quo for God's sake and bring the X-Men back to their former glory.

Bring back something close to the 90's team, bring them back to the mansion, make them protectors of people that fear and hate them, and leave the damn roster alone.

Hope they use it for the uniforms. But I hope the movie headline uses the classic X-men print form the comics. And I really need the first MCU film to be called Uncanny X-Men

I know covers aren't much to go on but I wonder if this "Captains Krakoa" business is resolved in time for the Gala
