MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE 18 Hour Long Movie

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE 18 Hour Long Movie

I have made an 18 hour long MCU movie. Find out more after the jump!

Editorial Opinion

Filed Under: Marvel Comics

          So, as I already stated, I have created an 18 hour cut of the MCU. Now I’m not talking about just putting them in the order in which they were released, nor am I talking about the first thing on it is Captain America TFA. What I did was put them in order in which they happened; scene by scene. I found this website a while back where someone had put together a timeline of the MCU starting with the attack of the dark elves in TDW, all the way up to CA: TWS (hasn’t been updated with GOTG yet).

 www.tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/5395/A-Marvel-Cinematic-Universe-Timeline/

           So what I did was I followed this timeline very closely and cut up the first 9 MCU movies and their respective post credits scenes and one-shots, and compiled it into one large movie. Now, user CPBuff22 posted an editorial a few days ago about the chronological viewing of the MCU, and my first comment on this site went to that editorial, sharing that I had made this cut. I’m sure not everyone saw that comment by some no name member of this site so I wanted to make an editorial myself to tell everyone…

            The mega cut is 18 hours long, 31 GB in size, and in .mp4 format. For an example of how the movie is put together:
·         It starts out with the T: TDW intro, the followed by the Thor 1 intro
·         Then cuts to the entire 1940’s portion of CA: TFA
·         After that is the Agent Carter One Shot
·         1999 portion of IM3
·         The cut to IM1
·         After IM1, as you can see in the timeline, it is a mixture of IM2, TIH, and Thor 1 including “A Funny thing Happened One Shot”
In the other editorial I had commented on, someone stated how the events of TIH should be one of the last things to happen before the Avengers… so this is what happens right before
·         Banner/Betty leaving the hotel room
·         Loki bringing the frost giants to Asgard, Thor & Loki fight on the bridge, end of Thor with him taking to Heimdall
·         Army / General Ross trying to find Banner/Bbetty while those 2 are looking for Samuel Sterns, ALL the way till the Hulk defeats the Abomination and leaves NY
·         Thor post credit scene with Dr. Selvig & Loki
·         Cut to Betty looking out near the Statue of Liberty, while Banner is in British Columbia; "0 days without incident"
·          The Consultant one shot / Hulk post cred scene cut together
·         SHIELD finding Cap  & Cap waking up
After that, the Avengers starts, and IM3, Thor 2 & CA: TWS all happen chronologically, including All Hail the King, and all post credits scenes. Of course once GOTG becomes available I will add it, along with EVENTUALLY Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, etc.

           I made this article just to tell my fellow CBM nerds that an MCU mega cut is out there, and I want to share it with you. Only thing is, I don’t know how. I don’t know what site I should upload it to / make it available for download… this is something every hard core MCU fan should have.

            So if you guys of CBM.com have any comments, questions, concerns, or input I would LOVE to hear it!

BTW sorry if the grammar / structure is poor, I know how a lot of people are picky about that! Thanks for reading!

I made a MCU timeline as well, started it back in 2010 and finished a version of it so my friends and I can watch it the week before Avengers came out.
I also, had this question earlier this year and someone suggested to me to do it through Torrent. So you can look into that.
I have updated it past Avengers but haven't gotten around to updating it with Agent Carter. But ultimately I don't think I'll put it up online because I don't want to get in trouble with copyright.
Good luck on your MCU movie version
I just did it because I am a fan and needed the editing experience to understand story telling more.
Here's a example I had fun with that's in my MCU movie.

Saw your comment, welcomed you to the site and you're a very dedicated fan for doing this, man. Can you upload it to YouTube? If not you could try Wordpress, just make your own blog and attach it. Or, you can upload it to your fansite here on CBM and post it in this article.

@RoBdOg
I don't think it entirely counts as copyright because it's fan-made. Like that Loki movie someone made, that was all scenes from the MCU and it was perfectly fine because it was all spliced together by a fan.

@NovaCorpsFan
Oh okay. Yeah, I saw something online mentioning about a fan-spliced Loki film. Well, in that case, I might look back into it again if I find the time. Cheers.

It's not fan mande, it's fan edited. The images are not from the fans. If you take something just from the trailers or clips online I believe that you are allowed because you aren't profiting in any way and the images were released by the owners of the film but if you take scenes directly than I think you are breaking the law. I don't really see Marvel bothering you though but still.

@Alphadog
That's the thing though, that Loki film someone made was nothing but MCU scenes.

ok for some reason very few people know about the existence of the site called fanedit.org, it's a forum where all the fan made edits are presented and reviewed, and you can post your fan edit in to fanedit.info where people can download your edit and view it, it's a great forum all together and I have watched soem spectacular fan edits, fan mixes fan fixes, you name it, they got it.

I strongly advise anyone who likes fan edits to go check some of them out, they are all spectacular, some even better then the theatrical versions.

Would you mind adding all of the Agents of Shield episodes? Thanks

@NovaCorpsFan I didn't quite catch what you said. How does the fact that the scenes were all from the MCU defend your argument? I know you were reering to something I said but I don't know what it was.

@novacorps yep remember that, thanks! I'll probably look into that website @axeeffect mentioned and see if I can upload it there.

@dopemaster sorry but I'm keeping it strictly movies, post credits, and one shots!

I wanna see your video...if you go to YouTube and 'increase your limit', should be able to post the 31 GB file no problem...

Oh, forgot, you'll have to cut the video into two vids to meet this criteria (from the link I posted above)

Once you’ve increased your limit, make sure you’re using an up-to-date version of your browser so you can upload files greater than 20GB. The maximum file size you'll be able to upload to YouTube is 128GB and the maximum duration is 11hours.

@Alphadog
I meant that y'know, the Loki thing was made entirely of MCU stuff not fan-made things and that hasn't had any issues, so I doubt the whole of the MCU put togetehr would have any issues either. That was what I meant.

There are a few of these out, and every one the frame rate is off, I'd go with mkv as a container for better quality.
Alphadog
Alphadog - 9/14/2014, 2:03 AM
@NovaCorpsFan Yeah but I think that that's because Marvel doesn't care about it like I said. I still think it's a copyright infringement.

Ah well, [frick] it then.

dirty30m - 9/14/2014, 11:34 AM
@Mexicanchinman no i hadnt thought of though. but i would use the only the scenes that would be relevant and useful.

@bigsmock i havent made a torrent for it, and i dont think i would be able to right now because of my college's firewalls

im currently looking into using fanedit.org OR going to try the YouTube thing

Sounds great. Why not a torrent?
batz11
batz11 - 9/14/2014, 7:23 PM
If you do the YouTube deal, probably best to make it a "private" video and share the link here so it doesn't get removed for copyright, not sure if it would or not, but probably safest...
dirty30m
dirty30m - 9/14/2014, 7:38 PM
@denn1s when im connected to my schools wifi BitTorent or any other torrent program doesnt work, or else i would upload it there!

@npamusic i just joined vimeo in hopes to uploading it there, but they have different plans / upload restrictions, so ill prob go with @batz11 and use youtube

dirty30m - 9/15/2014, 1:31 PM
ive added 5 deleted scenes.
-TA: alternate opening with maria hill
-TA: captain america watching film, goes to the restaurant
-TA: Banner & security guard speak in that warehouse
-CATWS: SHIELD goes looking for cap in the high school
-When Black Widow releases info to public, Pierce mentions Budapest = and other places.

i really wanna add the banner attempted suicide, but i cannot find at least a 720p quality of it online.

IF ANYONE HAS SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT OTHER DELETED SCENES I SHOULD ADD PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET ME KNOW.

@batz @npamusic @novacorpsfan I've created version 3 of the movie, further tightening transitions & adding the deleted scenes I mentioned earlier. The only thing I forgot to do was add the subtitles for when Batroc and his crew speak French. I am going to try to upload to dropbox today, but I'm not sure when that will happen. Once I upload it I will create another editorial.
