This March, Marvel Comics looks set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Carnage with some sinister new variant covers. As you can see below, many of our favourite superheroes have become hosts of the Carnage symbiote in brand-new illustrations by all-star artists including Francesco Manna, Dan Panosian, Humberto Ramos, and David Nakayama.
These brilliant - and undeniably terrifying - new symbiote designs will adorn the covers of many of Marvel's hottest ongoing comic series, and more covers are set to be released in the coming weeks.
Another reason for these variants is the upcoming release of a special one-shot titled Carnage Forever later this month. Featuring stories by an all-star assembly of creators including Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Ram V, Ty Templeton, and Edgar Salazar, the one-shot will be packed with violent stories from everyone's favourite symbiote serial killer’s notorious past, present...and future.
Marvel Comics has killed and resurrected Carnage multiple times over the past few years, but it's no wonder they're once again looking to bring Cletus Kasady back. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a hit in theaters, and put the spotlight on the villain in a way that left comic book fans wanting more.
Cletus isn't Carnage's only host, of course, as Norman Osborn also once donned the symbiote to become Red Goblin. Whether the alien is getting a new human to bond with remains to be seen.
