Marvel Comics Reveals Spectacular New AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 Variants And A Huge Teaser For Issue #900

2022 marks the 60th anniversary of Spider-Man, and Marvel Comics is celebrating that by relaunching Amazing Spider-Man on April 6 with a new #1 issue from Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.

That's something of a dream team for comic book fans, and the first batch of variant covers have now been released. Mark Bagley, Jim Cheung, Humberto Ramos, and Skottie Young are among the talented artists to have put their unique spin on the wall-crawler, and there's some astonishing artwork here.

Marvel Comics has also released a teaser for June's Amazing Spider-Man #900. Ed McGuinness will be joining Wells for that story, and it appears Peter Parker will have to square off with a villain who is an amalgamation of the Sinister Six! We're sure that won't be this issue's only surprise, though, and many fans remain optimistic Peter and MJ will finally renew their vows and get married again.

In the upcoming relaunch, for some reason, no one wants to see Spider-Man - except for Doctor Octopus. Ock's on Spider-Man's tail and the Master Planner has something truly terrible planned for when he gets his tentacles on Spidey. All that, and what does Tombstone have planned?

@dragon316 - funny you say that, a month ago I went on a binge of buying old hologram covered comics. I still love the look of holographic cards and covers.

Variant comics = over valued collectors items.

I miss the days where bad artists didn't hide behind 'it's just my style' to justify not being able to use perspective and proportions correctly. I'd almost rather have the dozens of Jim Lee and McFarlane copycats of the early 00's.

Unimpressive. Like every musician today copying each other. Zero originality or creativity.

@PartyKiller - The Bat-Copter!? That’s absolutely ridiculous. Now, The Bat-Blimp is more plausible. Lol

Since Marvel & DC killed their sales, artists don't get paid good rates. And you can tell that the artists just don't care these days. If they spend too much time on pages it will average to less money than people make in fast food, Target & Walmart. So they just crap it out fast just to be done with it.
