Do we really need a comic book adaptation of The Avengers? Marvel clearly seem to think so as they've enlisted Will Corona Pilgrim (Creative Research Manager for Marvel Studios and scribe of a number of previous Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-ins) to pen this two-parter. He'll be joined by artist Joe Bennett (Deathstroke) and the cover and solicitation text can be found below. Does this pique your interest? Be sure to share your thoughts on this new series in the usual place!

GET READY FOR MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON WITH THIS OFFICIAL ADAPTATION OF THE FIRST BLOCKBUSTER FILM!
• Iron Man! Thor! Captain America! Black Widow! Hawkeye! The Hulk! They’re all here…and so is Loki!
• When the trickster god makes a play for the mighty Tesseract, it’ll take a historic assemblage of heroes to save the day…that is, if they don’t kill each other first!

I would like this iof they give us more story on the movie, and not be a direct adaption of the movie.

It was better back when they made the comic adaptations as soon as the movie was in the theaters.. Making it so late it's kinda pointless.
But if i like the art i'll get it anyways.

An unnecessary novelty.

If they want it slightly amusing, they won't draw the characters looking like the actors in their movie costumes.

Typically, they should be making these when the movie comes out.
Marvel is two years late with this one.

But, I beg you, don't read Bendis' Age of Ultron. It's a hot mess.

but the movie doesn't even have that much of a story, making a comic of it would be pointless

@DrunkenNukem

That would be good.

Like how they did back in the day with the X2 comic prequels (And adaptations).

Well, what's weird is that the cover doesn't say anything about being an "official movie adaptation"...

Instead it says "Marvel Cinematic Universe TIE-IN"....

Could this include insights we didn't actually get in the film?!

I'm okay with it if it's like a directors cut of the Avengers where they add everything Joss originally wanted in but couldn't fit it in or something. Otherwise not sure why this is being made.

Note to self:

Stop skimming the article titles and misinterpreting them into something completely different.

I swear, I thought this said that Age of Ultron was turning into a two-part film, and I wasn't sure whether to be pissed off at another blatant Hollywood cash-grab or ridiculously excited for yet another Avengers movie haha.

Then I re-read the headline

And was dissapointed

@johncarter

I heard through my local comic shop that the AOU story from a few years ago would continue. I'm not sure if it would be a direct tie-in to the movie or not.
