The smash hit Manga/ anime Attack on Titan is teaming up with the ever so wonderful Marvel for somthing  that is sure to peak some interest.  Earlier today marvel scout C.B. Cebluski confirmed on Twitter that in just two weeks a collaboration will come out. Apparently it will feature a story of the marvel universe if it was attacked by the monstrous beings called titans, gigantic humanoid creatures who eat people for what is thought practically no reason.

For those of you who don't know what Attack on titan is,  it is story set  a world where humanity lives inside cities due to the titans. The story is about Eren Yeager, his friends Mikasa and Armin, who join the military to fight the Titans after their home town is invaded and Eren's mother is eaten. As the story progresses, the truth behind the origin of the Titans is slowly revealed as it turns political in a bid to save humanity.

Right now it is only  to be released in Japan, but knowing how popular the series is in the states who knows it might just pop up in your local shops. check out twitter for more.

That is... well, certainly a weird combo. I kind of doubt I like it. Shingeki no Kyojin is pretty damn great, though.

I hope this is just the beginning. Imagine if this agreement were to somehow evolve to Marvel Studios doing a live action Manga. Hell, Avi Arad is sitting on some well known anime movie rights as we speak.

@Melkaticox I'm with you. Although, I tried to watch Hunter X Hunter and it started off really slow. Couldn't stick with it... Is it worth giving it another try?

Spider-Man is only allowed to go to Japan if he gets to have his giant robot car thingy again.

@Pending
Marvel Disk Wars is still going, isn't it?

I don't know enough about the ins-and-outs of the anime scene, but it seems to me that most of it nowadays is a pretty crude merchandising tool that exists almost entirely to create legions of die-hard fans that will buy various collectibles/clothing/trinkets with the product's name on it, or at the very least large numbers of DVD/Blu-rays.

I don't understand why Marvel Studios spends so much effort and energy creating good-to-great films, only to let their name be tarnished with really horrible low-grade crap. Maybe it's just a different product for every market (kids probably love the cartoons and eat up the toys), but as an adult that really craves more Marvel stuff, it's difficult to see utter garbage like this:

Let me be clear, I'm not even deriding the talent of the people who churn this stuff out. I just think they aren't given any amount of time, resources, or direction to make something worth watching. Paul Dini is better than "Agents of Smash", but for whatever reason, that's what they've decided to make.
