POLL: Which Marvel Studios Character Has Been Represented Best Onscreen?

We have already had Fox's X-Men, now vote on which character from a Marvel Studios movie has been the best representation of their comic book counterpart..

Feature Opinion

Wolverine won out in the last poll, but I have a feeling this one might be a bit closer. I certainly couldn't call it although I know who I will be voting for. Marvel Studio films have given us great interpretations of their characters and cast some excellent actors in the roles. But who stands out as the best to you?

Now I realize I left out a few minor or supporting characters from the 5 movies Marvel have released so far but I wanted to keep the numbers down to a degree and really, if you actually thought one of the Warriors Three from Thor or Samuel Sterns from The Incredible Hulk was the best representation of those characters after about 4 mins of screen time I don't know what to tell ya! I may have missed out on someone important though. I'm sure you guys will let me know about it.

Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark all the way. He is at least in the top 5 best cbm performances. When i forst heard that he was going to be Tony I had some doubts but now I can't imagine anyone else playing him.

If we're talkin just who was the best character on screen obviously RDJ, but if we're talking closest to comic book representation I would have to say either Chris Evans or Ed Norton

Chris Evans as Johnny Storm.

regardless of howw many may feel about the film, hemsworth was great as thor. but its a hard vote cuz RDJ owns Tony stark as well.

RDJ as Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Chris Evans as Captain America
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

Those are definitely the best on screen adaptations, IMO.

I enjoyed Tom Jane portrait 'Punisher' too.

...and Wesley Snipes as 'Blade'(the 1st 1) was cool.

Deadpool....oh wait

Ed Norton as Bruce Banner, although I'm eager to see Ruffallo as him.

It should obviously be tony stark

Robert Downey Jr. was great in 2008's 'Iron Man' but in 2010's 'Iron Man 2' he acted more as himself, Robert Downey Jr. than the Tony Stark of 2008's 'Iron Man'. He lost the swag. Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger, to me, was the best represented character on screen from Marvel Studios.

well technically Clark Gregg did Coulson perfectly

Evan's Storm is good. I like the Fantastic4 movies. Only one really out of place is Alba.

I picked Downey, but there are some good ones in there.

William Hurt

Tom Hiddleston

Anthony Hopkins

Chris Hemsworth

Tim Roth. I don't know how accurate his Blonsky is to the comic, but his performance is kickass top notch

I like Ed Norton and wish he was Avengers, but I think Bana's creepy nerd Banner is awesome and fits the character well.

...but for marvel Studios productions RDJ.
You know his career was revived by doing guest appearances on 'Alley McBeal'. Now look at him...he's grown up to be such a fine young man!

1st robert downey jr as tony stark/iron man

2nd chris evans as steve rogers/captain america

RDJ's performance was a revalation - and I don't use that word too often - he brought a whole other level of 'Tony Starkness' .... to Tony Stark.

IMO Ray Stevenson LOOKED the most like his character - too bad that can't be said for his performance.

Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark!
RolandD
RolandD - 8/15/2011, 6:49 PM
Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. RDJ gave a fantastic performance, but his Tony Stark is written as more cavalier than I care for.

I think Terrence Howard should be on here even though he doesnt play War Machine any more. IMO he was better than Cheadle.

But I'm voting for Downey Jr. Chris Hemsworth comes in second.

ummmm 2 words..."THE HOFF" .........seriously though i really liked Micky Rourke in IM2 but i guess since were comparing them to the comics i see why hes not on the list still made a great character...
REDSTORM

Stark and Rogers were pretty much equal to me, but my vote goes to Rogers for not touching up on Alcoholic Stark

aww heck just gotta vote for Hemsworth, Looked like the character, took on the challenge of bulking up and succeded. Had the arrogant thing going, made him believable.
SageMode
SageMode - 8/15/2011, 7:12 PM
I'd say Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, and Chris Hemsworth are pretty much equaled as far as how they portrayed Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor respectively. They all owned their roles IMO.

Im pretty sure you miss a guy in a red and blue costume, he can climb walls and shoot spiderwebs, I dont remember his name right now...
WellDrawn

In all honesty, Alfred Monlina definitely deserves a place on this list - fantastic portrayal of Doc Ock.

@WellDrawn: The Spider-Man movie series wasnt under Marvel Studios though.

Kinda thought JC was a better Betty Banner than Liv "cant act & just in showbiz cuz of my dad" Tyler.
Special recognition goes out to Ed N, Jeff B, & Chris H but yeah Rob D owned it

If we are including whole marvel universe (not just MCU), then it goes: 1) cumming as nightcrawler, 2) Mckellen as Magneto, 3) Robert DJ as iron man.

RDJ as tonystark he is ironman

all other choices are from idiots.
thalidomide

Yep, RDJ for sure...
JackBauer
JackBauer - 8/15/2011, 8:43 PM
RDJ's performance as Tony Stark was fantastic, but Stark was never that funny in the comics before the movie. He always had the swaggering, confident playboy personality but he wasn't a comedian.

It would have to be Evans as Cap, Hemsworth as Thor or Hiddleston as Loki.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 8/15/2011, 8:55 PM
Hemsworth IS THOR

Downey IS Stark

Evans IS Chris Evans dressed like Cap, but IS Skinny Rogers.
