Since Rocksteady gave us 2009's hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, Marvel hasn't had a real good game other then LEGO Marvel (but let's be honest, all the LEGO games are great and awesome) and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. For the past few years, Marvel's video game department has been on a decline while DC's has been rising. Marvel has said they that have been looking for the right studio. Well they have found it in Telltale Games. On Telltale Games's Blog they announced:

Announced this evening in San Francisco, we're excited to reveal an all-new partnership with the incredible team at Marvel Entertainment. We'll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017!

As always, stay tuned here for the latest news and details on this and all of our upcoming projects as they become available...

And had the photo you see above. Nothing else other then that. Telltale Games has been involved in making games for franchises like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones as well as The Wolf Among Us based on the Fables comic. It seems as though we'll have to wait until 2017 for Marvel to arrvive on consoles but at least we know Marvel games are being developed by a good studio. It could be worse considering the past studios of Marvel games are SEGA, Activision, Capcom, and Ubisoft; Telltale Games is pretty much an upgrade from them. What are your thoughts? Are you excited or do you prefer to play your video games via Facebook and on an iPhone? Comment below. Let me know. Peace and remember...

Still editing. Honestly, I'm really mixed.

On one hand, Telltale Games are great in there episode format and focus on storytelling...

But when you look at what Rocksteady did with Batman and previous open world Spider-Man games, you likely won't get that free roam open city which I want.

Still gonna buy them when they come out.

Does their style fit with superhero blockbuster video games?

@TronVin

Well I mean when you look at Wolf Among Us, they look like Ultimate Spider-Man in terms of style.

This isn't the right developer to go for a super hero idea, it COULD be an upgrade... It will be more of point and click/story driving game. And this won't make it for a super hero experience. I said before and i will said again, IF they team up with Santa Monica Studios they would have a better chance at a video game of super heroes... But at less it would have a good story with multiple outcomes, that for sure...

I'm totally down tbh.

Loved TWD, Wolf Among Us and currently GOT. Very interesting news.

Don't know which character would fit their format though.

It could be worse guys. They could have went to EA. The company who reboots Star Wars Battlefront and gives us...

No story,
No space battles,
No galactic conquest,
No moding allowed,
No prequels locations,
and 4 planets.

@Kurne

Spider-Man and Daredevil would be perfect IMO.

Just no open world :(

Ultimate Spider-Man remastering would be great. Maybe a new Hulk game like Ultimate Destruction.

As great of news this is, I think Dontnod would have been the better choice. What they have been doing with Remember Me is really great. That game changes on what actions you take. Where as Telltale lets you do a few things different, but you get the same story.

Tales of Asgard
Daredevil
Origins of Spider-Man
Punisher
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Cloak & Dagger

Based on what's coming out in 2017 and what Telltales' style kind of fits story telling/gameplay wise

Now that... is seriously good news, Walking Dead was overrated imho, but Wolf Among Us? Genius. GoT is pretty good and Borderlands surprised me with how good it was. Love the episodic nature as it allows for replay and unfortunately I don't have the time I used to for RPG/Sandbox Action-adventure, so this format was a godsend for me.

Daredevil would be interesting. Sentry, taken from the original series with Jae Lee art.Civil War, Ultimates (book 1 and 2 only),Punisher, Loki Agent of Asgard, Hawkeye (based on Fraction;s work). Tales of Asgard is something that just lends itself to Telltale's style. Miracleman?

Let's give 'em a chance. This should surely be connected to the MCU considering the game format. There will be plenty of side story to tell as the universe expands between the end of Phase 2 and the culmination of Phase 3.

Just park the money truck at ROCKSTEADY... I'm with folks not wanting the "slower paced" gameplay that Telltale is known for... Maybe they'll surprise us though...

I love Telltale but I don't think a superhero game suits their style.

FPS Punisher from Valve would be cool.
