Why Marvel Getting Back Fantastic Four Is A Bad Thing

People are constantly complaining about the latest Fan4stic movie and saying that they should give Marvel the rights to Fantastic Four, but there is so much more Marvel can do than give them the rights and that be it. Here's what Marvel can do to work with 20th Century Fox so everyone is happy.

We all know Marvel, we all like Marvel, but let me tell you something: Them getting FF back wouldn't be all that great. Sure we can see the Thing fight- er, try to fight the Incredible Hulk, Human Torch have some quips with Spider-Man and the Brilliant Minds of Tony Stark, Hank Pym, and Reed Richards on the big screen, and all FOX has to do is let them make an X-Men TV show. It sounds like a dream right? It is, but it's more bittersweet than just sweet.

With how much money FOX is expected to lose on the FF Marvel has more of an advantage than you realize. With FOX taking a loss with FF and also wanting to make a TV but can't without the permission of Marvel, FOX can one of three things: 1. They can not give Marvel the rights back and not get the X-Men TV show they wanted. 2. They can give them the rights back get a TV show and the rest is history. But the third option (the one i wanted to talk about). 3. They can not get the rights back to FF, but instead strike a deal in which everyone wins; including the fans. They can share both of there Universe by letting them share not only the FF,the X-Men, but The Avengers can go toe-to-toe with the X-Men.

It will benefit Marvel because they share the Universe (which means bigger and better stories and FOX for the same reason). FOX will also be able to get their TV show and keep the rights. Some reasons it will be a win for fans is: Chances are if Marvel owned Everything there wouldn't be any rated R movies. No rated R Deadpool, Moon Knight, and Punisher. With the shared Universe they can let FOX do the dirty work (letting them handle the R rated characters). With the help of Marvel and the guts of FOX they will be virtually impossible to stop! We could get the superheroes that deserve the R rated movies. We could have super heroes without limits as to who can be in it. It would be a Marvel Machine if they went with option 3.

This is all just my opinion, but that doesn't mean we can have debates out the wah-zoo. If you agree or dissagree let me know in the comments.

I don't care for R Rated movies. I really don't give a shit what the MPAA ratings are.

Curses, violence, lewdness, and blood have absolutelly no impact in my enjoyment of a movie. They don't detract nor do they improve them, IMO. So, I would be okay with PG-13's Punisher and Marvel Knight movies/TV Shows, just like I would be fine with a PG-13 Daredevil or a PG-13 Deadpool. Likewise, I don't mind them being R Rated either.

So, "Fox can make R rated movies" is not a selling point to me. It's not a deal beaker either, but it definetelly doesn't convince me that the rights reverting to Marvel is something bad.

I think Moon Knight woulf be an awesome Netfilx show. Maybe shoot it defferently... even black and white like Sin City, but grainier and Moon Knight in costume and blood being the only things bright and clear. Lots of voice-over narration too. So, yeah, basically Sin City with Moon Knight.

just give them back to marvel, i dont care if we dont see another F4 film as long as the characters and their supporting characters are with marvel. i don't wanna see the f4 i want to see the silver surfer, galactus, kang, the skrulls, the shiar, annihilus, the badoon and above all else dr doom done justice.

maybe they could make a f4 netflix series if they really wanted to in the future but with marvels current line up i say no to another movie if they do get the rights back.

I say ideally I'd like them to move ahead with a sequel but strike the same deal as Sony did.
Have them integrate into the Marvel universe but be independant with their own movies.
Keeping the phenomenal cast too.

They can easily retcon some things.

Netflix wouldn't have the budget for a F4 movie.
You couldn't have a CGI think and a CGI Johnny look good in a Netflix show

I don't want the X-Men in the MCU. Marvel can have them just not in the same place as the Avengers.

Nice idea, but i have to disagree. I would MUCH rather that Marvel have the rights back, no strings attached. Full control to do whatever they want with their characters. I really want to see Annhilation played out on the big screen!!

Umm.......let me think about this.......hmmm..........yeah.........ummm...no. Just no.

Marvel doesn't need X-Men back. Frankly, they don't need Fantastic 4 either. Really, we don't need anymore Fantastic 4 movies anytime in the next 10-15 years at least. Not every comic works in a movie, and F4 is one of them. So hopefully the rights just revert to Marvel in about 8 years, and then they just sit on them.

As for this nonsense about Fox making R-rated movies out of the comics that deserve an R-rating instead of a supposed "watered-down" PG-13, that is just ridiculous. I'm sorry, but movies don't need extra profanity and graphic violence and sex. Especially comic book movies. If a comic book can't be made into a movie without that nonsense, imo it shouldn't be made into a movie at all. This idea that profanity and graphic violence and blood and gore and sex have "artistic" value is just stupid.

I would bet money that next February there will be a backlash against Deadpool, because there will be lots of kids who will think the costume is cool and want to see it. And some parents will take their kids because they won't really know what the comic is about and will assume that a cbm can't be that bad and that it probably just barely got the R, and then they're gonna be upset. And others won't take their kids, but will still be upset that they can't.

At this point, I'd say the Fantastic Four aren't as important to Marvel as the characters ASSOCIATED with the FF ie. Silver Surfer and villains like Doom, Kang, Annihilus and Galactus.
