Being a Floridian for the past 15 yeras I' ve come to realize and be familiar with the major stereotypes of this state: orange juice, senior citizens and theme parks (Disney World) . Never would have taught a superhero would develope here.

Captain Citrus was first introduced a few years ago as a original character by the Deparment of Citrus in Florida in order to boost sales of the delicious pulpy drink.

However it didnt do as great as they thought,  a few years later this character has gone a $1M dollar renovation, transforming Captain Citrus into: well check it out....

According to Executive Director Doug Ackerman:  "Raising awareness of the amazing nutritional benefits of Florida citrus, especially among families, is a priority,"

Not only was he redone by Marvel, he was also given a backstory.

Now he's John Polk, empowered by mysterious solar pods found growing in his family's Central Florida citrus grove. In a debut issue of a digital comic, Polk joins members of the Avengers — Captain America, THOR, Iron Man and Black Widow — to battle a "gamma enhanced evil genius" known as the Leader whose minions have attacked Orlando.

Creative Director For Marvel had this to say:  "Captain Citrus will show readers that while they may not be able to fly or shoot solar blasts, they can make healthy choices in their everyday lives and unleash the hero within"

and just because i like you guys here is the cover of the CB

Two more digital volumes are being created avalable only at CaptainCitrus.com
