MCU One Shot: Birds of a Feather

MCU One Shot: Birds of a Feather

This is my idea for a MCU one shot staring Hawkeye and Falcon going up against AIM set after the Winter soldier but before Age of Ultron.

When I finished watching The Winter Soldier for the third time I suddenly had an idea for a one shot that could go with either The Winter Soldier or Guardians of the Galaxy when they come out on blue ray. I think the title Birds of a Feather would be suitable sense it stars Falcon and Hawkeye. So here’s the premise.

Steve and Sam are operating out of a hotel in Symkaria which is near the border to Russia, as they are trying to track down Bucky. Sam is tending to his wounds after he and Steve busted up a HYDRA cell on their way there and he is discussing with Steve the matter at hand, which is that he isn’t as effective an ally without his wingpack. He then tells Steve that after the Para-rescue units wingpacks were recalled the government began development on a new and improvement version and commissioned SHIELD to build it, but sense SHIELD is in shambles it will probably be locked up in their testing facility for prototype weapons and gadgets. Due to all SHIELD intel being spilled on the net Sam was able to discover its location which is in a neighboring country, the Republic of Morvania. Still needing to chase up a lead on a lab that may be wear Bucky was stored in-between missions, Steve and Sam part ways momentarily. When Sam arrives at the SHIELD facility located in a desolate wasteland he finds it under siege. He does some recon and discovers that it has been overrun by men in yellow beekeeper suits.

Sam manages to infiltrate the base but is then ambushed by the beekeepers. But before they can attack him they are suddenly taken out by a flurry of arrows. Hawkeye then appears out of the shadows and points his bow at Sam demanding he tells him who he is and why AIM is after him. Sam says that he knows Hawkeye and that he’s one of the heroes who defended New York, but Hawkeye is still skeptical about Sam’s true agenda. Sam then says that he can prove that he’s on the good guy’s side and tells Hawkeye something that he knows will prove he’s innocent, that Fury’s alive. Hawkeye immediately stands down and asks Sam what exactly he is doing here. Sam tells Hawkeye that he’s looking for something that looks sort of like a backpack with wings. Hawkeye tells him that he’s looking for something too and that what they’re both seeking is probably in the secure vault.

Hawkeye and Sam fight their way through AIM foot soldiers and reach the vault. Hawkeye types in the clearance code and enter the vault. But the AIM soldiers manage to blast through the door using a Tesseract powered HYDRA weapon being stored in the base. The weapon blasts a hole in the side of the abse and the force of the explosion sends Hawkeye flying out the base and into the wasteland outside. While Hawkeye takes on the AIM soldiers equipped with Chitauri arm cannons, Sam discovers the EXO-8 Falcon which utilizes hard light construct technology created by Wakanda. Falcon puts on the suit and rushes to Hawkeyes assistance, but before he leaves he notices a strange cannon looking weapon.

Falcon flies in to help Hawkeye and throws him the Destroyer gun to give them an edge on the battle. They manage to fend of AIM but they retreat when their leader claims that they have the Psionic chip for their new ‘project.’ Hawkeye thanks Falcon and he retrieves what he was sent to get, a black box. Hawkeye explains that Fury instructed him to retrieve it and it’ll be instrumental for the future of world security. Hawkeye then says that he needs to do one more thing. They both back as far away as possible form the base and Hawkeye sets of a bunch of bombs he placed to bury the facility and its dangerous technology. Hawkeye and Falcon then part ways. Falcon asks if Hawkeye needs a lift but he says that he’s got it covered. He walks towards an empty space and uncloaks a vehicle that looks like a motorcycle with no wheels. Hawkeye then tells Falcon he’s not the only one who can fly then he jumps on the vehicle and flies away.

So to recap in this one shot: Hawkeye is revealed to be doing off the book missions for Fury even after the collapse of SHIELD. AIM is still operationally and is led by their ‘scientist supreme’ George Tarleton. Falcon gets a new look. His 616 appearance spliced with his ultimate appearance. The Wakandans invented the hard light wing projection for the EXO-8 just like in the comics. The black box Hawkeye retrieved was the toolbox given to Coulson by Fury in the finally of Agents of SHIELD, he also gave Fury the Destroyer gun to give to Coulson. Hawkeye owns a sky cycle. Finally the ‘Psionic chip’ for AIM’s new project is meant to be a nod to the creation of MODOK.

Falcon's effects are too expensive for a one shot. They are infamously cheap on budgets.

More like an idea for a spinoff then a one-shot. Nice read.

It wouldn't happen with the budget, but it sounds amazing!

Pretty damn brilliant! You should pitch this idea to Marvel for the Blueray/DVD release of Captain America 2. Really nice job!
