"20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is on a roll this summer, with its latest release "Daredevil" averaging more than $11 million a day in gross rental and sell-through revenue during its first five days in release on VHS and DVD, according to several industry sources.
Meanwhile, Buena Vista Home Entertainment's "Bringing Down the House," starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah, has generated about $30 million in video rental and sell-through revenue since its release Tuesday, industry sources said. That $30 million, however, is based on initial VHS and DVD shipment figures to both retail and rental outlets and does not represent a single day of consumer spending. It won't become clear how much "House" is bringing in on a daily basis until more information becomes available next week.
"Daredevil," starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell, has grossed more than $55 million since its July 29 home video release."
