Last August, we were all still locked down and DC FanDome was a welcome distraction from what was happening in the world. There were some minor issues, but for the most part, DC Entertainment didn't disappoint; we enjoyed quite a lot of what was on offer, and this Saturday's follow-up promises to be just as big.
Now, with just days to go before we return to the DC FanDome, we're taking a look at the reveals that have us counting down the seconds to this virtual event.
From new trailers to what could be revealed in the many sneak peeks that have been promised, something tells us this is going to be another epic weekend. There's definitely something for everyone, and we'll be bringing you all the biggest updates from the event all day on Saturday.
For now, take a look through this feature by clicking on the "Next" button down below!
5. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gameplay
Rocksteady Studios shared an impressive trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during last year's DC FanDome event, but we've seen very little from the game since. This title will be released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, so a first look at the gameplay is an absolute must this Saturday.
We know Task Force X - Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang - are sent after Superman, but what is that going to look like?
As of right now, it's unclear whether this is an Arkham Knight-style free-roam adventure, a linear game with different missions for each character, or even one that will see us jump between the villains during battles. Hopefully, all of this and more is going to be addressed in some way, and gameplay footage is a must. Make sure to also keep your fingers crossed for release date news.
4. The Batman Trailer
When the teaser trailer for The Batman was released during last year's DC FanDome, it still had a 2021 release date. Now, the movie isn't set to arrive in theaters until next year, but cameras have stopped rolling, and that means we should see more than just early footage in this next sneak peek.
With any luck, we'll learn whether The Riddler really is going to don that goofy mask for the whole movie and see more of Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader in action. After well over a year of very little being shown off from Matt Reeves' DC Comics movie, we have a wishlist that includes seeing Andy Serkis' Alfred Pennyworth, the Batmobile in action, and more shots of Catwoman.
Whether we get even half of that remains to be seen; however, with The Batman's March 2022 release date fast approaching, a trailer that leaves fans desperate to watch this movie is a must.
3. DC's Animated Slate
Honestly, we're not too bothered about that Peacemaker trailer, but DC's bringing an impressive slate of animated projects to the FanDome this year.
New previews of Injustice and Catwoman: Hunted have been promised, and the latter should be very interesting considering the fact we've only seen a single image from that movie thus far. In terms of TV shows, we're getting sneak peeks for Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Harley Quinn season 3, Batman: Caped Crusader, and Young Justice: Phantoms.
There's plenty to look forward to if you're a fan of DC's live-action small screen offerings (including the aforementioned Peacemaker trailer and a first look at Ava DuVernay's Naomi), but these are all animated projects that we're extremely intrigued to see more from.
2. Black Adam First Look
Black Adam hadn't started shooting when Dwayne Johnson revealed that awesome sizzle reel last August, and while it doesn't sound like we're getting a trailer this Saturday, we're hopeful for some footage.
A teaser and featurette (similar to The Suicide Squad) would be welcomed, though just seeing what these characters look like in live-action is going to blow the minds of many DC fans. That Black Adam reveal has been a long time coming, but seeing the likes of Dr. Fate and Hawkman in action stands a chance of being just as big a deal among comic book readers.
Dwayne Johnson taking on his first superhero role is definitely a big deal, and this has the makings of something special. Some fans are a little uncertain, of course, so anything Warner Bros. shows at DC FanDome needs to sell this movie as one of the most must-see titles of 2022.
1. The Flash Details
We've been promised behind the scenes looks at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, but it's the sneak peek of The Flash we're most looking forward to this weekend.
Last year, we got that first look at Michael Keaton suited up as Batman alongside the Fastest Man Alive in concept art. This time, a live-action version would be nothing short of jaw-dropping. Throw in Supergirl, Ben Affleck's new Batsuit, and the other characters and concepts spotted in set photos, and we have a feeling this movie could be the one to steal the show.
Unfortunately, it's probably just going to be a featurette, but there could still be footage scattered within that. Either way, it would be good to know if The Flash's big bad really is an alternate universe Barry Allen rather than the Reverse-Flash (a villain fans are dying to see on the big screen). Ultimately, though, we'd be happy to walk away with a few more cameo teases...
