DC FanDome took place this past Saturday, and the second ever virtual event clearly proved to be very popular with fans around the globe.

Offering first-looks and behind-the-scenes previews from the likes of Shazam: Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, The Flash, and, of course, the new trailer for The Batman, FanDome shattered the viewership of last year's inaugural event with a whopping 66 million views worldwide.

“With triple the fan traffic of last year, DC FanDome 2021 exceeded all of our expectations,” said Ann Sarnoff, Chair and CEO, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks. “We continue to innovate across the company in service of our fans, and I cannot overstate the creativity and hard work that went into this highly curated, global digital event. We gave fans what they wanted – the very best of all things DC – and their engagement and response have been fantastic. We’re as excited as they are to deliver on all the great content DC FanDome highlighted.”

WarnerMedia didn't actually provide a breakdown of the views for each panel/teaser, but we do know that The Batman trailer alone generated 25 million views on YouTube. Some fans were a little disappointed at the lack of any big announcements for future projects, this event clearly drew a lot of eyeballs, so we fully expect a third DC FanDome to be officially announced before too long.

Was a major step down from last year

outside of some animated movies getting a quick announcement, it was all just updates on projects from last year

Imma be honest it wasn’t as good as last year’s event. If you enjoyed it that’s totally fine but I was bored during most of it.

That's because there was no reason to stick to Fandome last year when everything they offered as on Youtube like half an hour earlier.

Everyone forgetting that last years was 2 DAYS?? Tons of boring filler there too! At least this had more actual film previews instead of announcements

Anyone else feel that streaming/viewership data is extremely skewed or even manipulated nowadays? I have no doubt this event was popular, but moreso when they release HBOMax or Netflix viewership numbers, I don’t understand how they can quantify real views versus bots, peoples tv’s just being left on all day for their dogs, etc. seems like a bunch of nonsense at a certain level

People will eventually grow to hate the event as the years go on.

@IcePyke - Ironically, if you ask Scorcese what he thought of that trailer he'd say ''if this is cinema, kill me now'' lol.

If Ruby Rose wanted to make an even bigger move, she could have dropped her expose as a video at the exact same time as the CW presentation at Fan Dome.

it was a pleasurable way to spend a few hours on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I'm looking forward to seeing it again next year!

Isn't 25m YT views kinda meh ? For a big movie like this.

I feel like 25m within a few days is your typical big blockbuster numbers.
Was thinking Batman would have smashed double that. Especially after seeing the crazy numbers of NWH.

The dumbest gripe I've heard from people was that they didn't enjoy DCFandome bc it showed stuff they didn't care about. Like, do you go to every convention and expect to like every single thing they display?
